I think I get through one 6Kg bottle about every 4-6 weeks. Probably 10 bottles a year. That's £90 a year for gas - not bad by most standards.
I'm fairly economical with it. I don't have the fridge on all the time in the winter espec when it is cold. I don't have the heating on a lot. Just to take the chill off the van. And I'm not a huge coffee/tea drinker so I'm not brewing up all day long like some are.
How much do you use in your van?

I get through 2.5 3.9kg bottles. I'm not full-timing though and this is over about 60-70 nights per year using the gas for the fridge (kept at 2 deg), frying bacon (20 minutes per meal) and boiling water for washing up and hot water bottles only. About £37.50 per year but these small bottles are not very economical compared with the larger 6kg versions.

Apparently the 13 kg are even cheaper. Charlie says he can get an exchange 13kg cylinder for £27 or so, although if I had a 13 kg it would be about £20 for me to fill at the pumps.

I'm looking at Gasit systems at the moment to replace my 2x6kg bottles. These cost about £18 each to swap at Go Outdoors.
I reckon 6KG usually lasts about a week with some heating and showering. We also use the oven quite a lot.

I'm waiting for a 6 kilo propane bottle to run out at the mo. It's been on since early January. It'll be replaced with a 13kg Butane which I got from the local Flogas depot last weekend....£26! This year I 'ave mostly been using 2x 13kg butane, 2x 7kg butane, 1x 6kg propane and some dregs that were left over in a bottle that Chris gave me( two weeks worth...thanks mate!). Approximate total of £110. A good way to keep gas consumption down is to have the hobs turned down to half heat when cooking or heating water.....and very low for simmering. Having it on full wastes a lot of heat and you'll find that you don't have to wait that much longer for your kettle to boil.

Good tip on cooking. I find putting the lid on my saute pan works well when I use it as a Dutch oven or even grill/fry/boil the same. It keeps all the heat in and I can cook on the simmer setting.

I think he needs a few tips on economising! Like the fridge does not always need to be on in the winter. Wear some warm clothes instead of constant heating, economical use of the stove. £18 a week on gas is £936 a year.... compared to the £90 I use. Ten times the amount !! Shocked

He's happy with the cost and like he says once it warms up the heating won't be on.The hot water and heating is a Truma combi boiler and the fridge is massive! ,but then he doesn't have any other outgoings apart from diesel and food,so why not be toasty every day.

My brothers the same ! ,but he thinks the gas is cheep compared to the calor that he was using. He's just about to buy a six month season ticket for all the council owned carparks in the local area. This will enable him to parkupmin the day time for the princely sum of £0.80p a day!
