I'm currently at helwith with a few other forum members, about 7 or 8 vans, having a sing song with guitars round a fire, starry sky, nippy but clear ~ fantastic But sad news, there's a notice to say that the picnic area will be closed next week for refurbishment, after which there will be barriers to be closed at night ~ I'll get a photo of the notice tomorrow. So we're being a bit loud tonight, a bit naughty but as its the last weekend ever, what the hell!

Rigg has been playing fetch the flat football constantly for the past 5 hours and still going, though a little slower, luckily 3 teenage lads to keep him busy.
I've had a raging sore throat all day but it's being numbed by my home invented medicine of hot ribena, cherry brandy and ginger wine ~ after 3 large mugs of it, I'm not sure if my throat still hurts as I'm having to focus on staying upright and that's not easy ;D

Barriers closed at night isn't too bad, but if they put height barriers up, it could be a problem. There was always a move in the background for the council to buy that picnic area anyway. I believe the pub allows you to use their car park for stopovers but no room for camp fires there.

He's a fibber, that N8rbos. I had the chance of a hot bath, meal and water top up at a friend's house on the Friday night (after a week in the van it was much needed), so I didn't get there till the wee small hours and the stew pan was empty. Lenny reckoned it was Irish Stew but he was spotted buying up all the discounted burgers in Tesco the day before, so maybe I had a lucky escape... ;-) Some pics from Sat night
