The problem i have is where i want the flue to go on my ambulance conversion there is a structural piece of aluminium which i do not want to cut through for stability reasons. In pic1 the aluminium is just below the flue and its about 50mm in depth, so i cant go below it as the angle for the flue is wrong. As seen in pic 2 the height from where ive put the flue to the exhaust has a gap of about 100mm, So my question is can i lengthen the tube on the exhaust t joint (pic3) to reach the flue, this shouldnt have any bearing on the operation of the exhaust system should it??? There advantage of buying an old ambulance to convert is that it is already insulated and lined...the disadvantage is not knowing where the structural supports are when you want to do anything...!!!!!

There is nothing wrong with joining the flue outlet to your flue exhaust pipe but you MUST make the angle of the exhaust pipe in an upward angle. The hot exhaust fumes will only travel upward because heat rises. Try to make a push fit to an angled joint from the TEE piece to the pipe coming through the skin. Any metal or non combustible material will do. They do sell an angled joint for this purpose at the caravan shops. DO NOT have the outlet pipe through the skin lower than the top of the flue outlet on the fridge under any circumstances.

The flue angle is higher than the fridge so im ok on that front. Ive just used part of the metal pole handle on my mop to make the extension and got the garage to weld it on my t piece to extend it...The whole situation isnt ideal and aesthetically not pleasing but it will have to do!!
