That thar be the end of a runway or aircraft parking bay left over from the war. There hundreds of them around this part of the country/ and yes farmers do use them for storage. Very few of them are not privately owned.

if you zoom out of streetview you can actually see the runway & shape of the "airport" quite amazing really, I've never seen anything like that before

Not by us, but NomadGB removed all his posts when he left. He had a disagreement with Phil from WC but it's all history now. Funky farmer did leave due to ill health, but they are referring to old pill boxes on disues WW2 airfields eg here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAF_Podington
