Now then, before you start, have you considered the risks of carbon monoxide poisoning, and red hot shrapnel exploding everywhere in an accident? And don't forget you need a 4.5m flue ... ;D Read this www.wildcamping.co.uk/forums/self-build-motorhome/26706-charcoal-wood-burners-heating.htmlI'm sure Aladdinsane or Tony Lee could advise you (Personally I'd use asbestos and sheet metal - that's what my coal man uses in his static caravan office, with a double lined flue, but N Brown is probably the most knowledgable so wait till he comes along)

best insulation i've found is air. fix thin ally or steel to any near by surfaces by putting a spacer about 12-15mm behind every fixing screw,i use nuts,as in nuts and bolts. if your burner allows for it these baffle plates can be fixed to the burner instead. a 7-8 inch strip on the wall behind the flue is good. through the ceiling i make the hole 3 or 4 inches all round bigger than the flue and make a metal trim plate up in 2 pieces with half a flue sized hole on each piece ,hope thats clear ? through the roof i make the hoe 2 inches bigger ball round and flash the flue with a silicone flashing.i make a cowl by bending an oval piece of steel or ally over my knee and rivet or bolt it to cover the flue, which i leave about 8 inches protruding through the roof i usually make a timber base and tile it with slate or other drillabe stone
