I am doing a canoe trip with a mate next week, and we camping under tarps on the river Gt Ouse. Now I like my comfort, and going to the loo in the early hours when it is raining can be a bit of a drag if you only have a loo roll and a spade! So, I have ordered one of these for the trip; www.popaloo.co.uk/I reckon that this would be ideal for people with small campers with limited facilities. I will write a review when I am back from my trip.

Finally got around to taking the sargent control panel out of the van to replace the polyfuse that controls the step ! Was told on other forums the control box would have nothing to do with step ! As usual technical at Sargent first class and diagnosed fault on phone sent new component free of charge the next day ! Had to solder new polyfuse in as it said on the comprehensive repair instructions Sargent sent me . Now to put it all back together Then see if it works

Rob,
In past life as backpacker and motorcycle traveller/camper, I always found a hand trowel and bog paper was all that was needed.......as long as hole was dug the night before,............. because as soon as coffee passes my lips in the morning......relax then whoosh!!!!!!!!!
Of course luxury now with elsan bristol in van......................Alec......

It was great.

I don't think I quite understand, robmac.
Did you buy the tent as well, and, how does this work on a canoeing trip?
Do you set it up before turning in for the night or what?
Whatever, I think the disposable bag idea is fine.

Whatever, I think the disposable bag idea is fine. That's right Sean, it's a pop up tent that folds down to about the size of a dustbin lid in circumfrence and lays flat in the bottom of the canoe when not in use. At night I put it away from the tents in the trees, it sets up in 5 seconds flat! Much better than going about your business behind a tree in the rain! Was pure luxury!

Thanks, robmac.
I suppose 'twould be more conspicuous on those beachfront sites, so beloved of the campaigners on the WC, than hidden among those riverside trees.
Happy paddling!
I know you're back now. Did you bring the bags with you?
ps
I won't have time to see your reply before I get back from ballinasloe horsefair.

Bags went into litter bins Sean, which apparently is acceptable.
Have a good fair!
