Ok here goes my first attempt at posting a wild camping location... Probably i have done something wrong as not very techy at all despite my travels!!! This is an old disused Ford crossing. The river is now so big that you cannot drive through and it has been a closed road for many years now. I have stopped over here many times when travelling about UcK and now i live just down the road i use it to walk my dogs because it is very quiet and no one goes there! You can park your camping car right up near the river and there are lots of lovely walks around. It is a very quiet location although dog walkers will sometimes appear... I have had the usual "why are you parking there" question but my standard response of "because i can" seems to get the message trhough! Coordinates are: 51.371395, -1.253445 Actually no idea how i do the overhead bit or the street view sorry!!! Actually blonde!!!

Thanks for the WCL! Google Overhead: goo.gl/maps/o7fGOGoogle Street View: goo.gl/maps/CmCxOThe Google street views are not always easy to get - depends what machine you are using. On some of the ithingies or androids you need a special app I think. (Anyone using, be careful not to block the field gate, but it should be long enough for most vans I reckon )

I know that spot very well as I used to live near there and drive through that ford in my Landrovet. You wouldn't recognise it now! The river is massive and they have put physical barriers in to stop people driving through and getting stuck... I love it down there and spend many a happy hour walking dogs along the river and sitting in the sun

I think they put up the barriers because a couple took a short cut through it in their car.The car sunk and the man and their dog drowned. Its always been a deep ford.

Problem is everyones sat navs go through there and although all the locals know not to cross, everyone else thought it was ok becasue computer says so...
