My Hi-Tec 50 Peaks got really tested recently, thoroughly waterproof & very comfy. Phill's Hi-Tec (no other name)leaked like a sieve his feet were soaked.

Go-Outdoors also do some spray on waterproof stuff (Grangers) which seems to work pretty well Sharon. Trouble is, I'm like a kiddy in a sweetie shop when I go in there!

huge variety in the market, fabrics ones and leather ones which are usually more expensive, only suggestion is to look for pair with vibram soles, very rigid for walking stonely terrain

I get the North West Territory Brand - can buy them at Amazon. Very sturdy thick soles and also steel toe caps so they double as safety boots for sites.
Cost about £20 including P and P. My last pair lasted over a year with constant daily wear.

Just did Goat Fell last week in my boots; Rainy on the way down and not a slip. Also good for construction sites, and self defence should it ever come to that - steel toe cap is very hard
