First casualty, Baz and his missus Christine have had to leave the convoy with alternator failure. He as had to go back a few miles to a garage at the beginning of Skye. It is quite a new van and still under warranty. He is hoping to stay in his van at the garage overnight. We are staying in a Co-op car park in Broadford Sky hoping he will re-join us tomorrow. Weather as changed and we are parked looking out to sea through rain and misty windows . We should cheer up soon with an educational trip to the local pub. Gee we are having it rough .... .... Tom .... I think the weather is now better on the east coast. It's warm here but cloudy and still with a chilly wind.

At Sunnyside CAMPSITE X tonight. 2 miles north of Arisaig. Stalag 337 - actually very nice, showers, free wifi, crockwash, hook up etc for £15 a night. Good for Molly2 as his alternator still on the blink so he needs a good nights recharge. Weather pretty crap this evening but good trip on the Sky ferry Armadale-Mallaig earlier today.

Out walking Kaiser with Tom last night at Tarskavaig and took this short Vid :- ...Alec... ps. Don't tell Charlie I'm on a camp site !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great vid Alec, you can see our little encampment with the four vans in front of the white house towards the middle/end of the vid. I can recommend this area of Skye. Very remote and great views across the water to the Cuillin Hills when a clear day. I would have done the walk, but was cooking duck with ginger and orange sauce, along with wild garlic and wild mint we collected earlier in the day. Sweet potatoes and yellow tail shiraz too. I think billieblue would have liked this meal Mr Onion just phoned, and is joining us tonight at Arisaig!

I would have enjoyed everything - the meal, the surroundings, the company and of course the wine! Looks like all going well. Onion nearly persuaded us to go up from Cumbria yesterday! At least we had a fantastic night at the Full Moon Club to console us!

HEY UP JUST HEARD A RACKET OUTSIDE. Yup you got it the Onion as landed. He only been here 5 mins and he as already ordered a mini bus to take us a couple of miles into the village to the local pub. I am quiet disappointed as I was looking forward to a night in drinking tea and listening to Mozart on the radio. Ah well everyone to there own, I will just jog along to keep face. Hope we don't get doe nosed because we gotta catch the ferry tomorrow and if we miss it we got a four day wait. I suppose I will just have to grin and bare it to keep the peace. Someone's gotta do it .. .... Tom ....

It sounds as though you're having my weather now! It's been dry, bright, sunny and even warm here on the east coast. I leave tomorrow though and will have had just 2 nights on campsites out of my 14. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

After Friday night at Sunnyside, we traveled down through Fort William and Oban, to catch the ferry on Saturday afternoon..
I didn't bother getting the camera out. Very grey with a lot of drizzle. We camped Saturday night in the carpark behind the terminal at Port Askaig on Islay. Ferry trip was great too - well worth it for the scenery and we stopped of at Colonsay on the way. We had a few beers in the Hotel at Port Askaig. It rained most of Sunday, but we have found a place on the West side of Bowmore in another car park, and the weather is now brightening up so hope to get some pics of Islay and maybe the paps of Jura.
