I could do with a new set of tyres for my Citroen Dispatch, and because I like to go up to Scotland in the Winter, I am considering fitting Winter tyres. Question is, can I leave them on all year round, I don't particularly want to buy a new set of Summer tyres after the Winter.
From what I can gather, they wear no less than Summer tyres, but may cost a little bit of stopping distance in the Summer.
Anybody any thoughts?

I have thought about all season tyres, when mine need replacing (not too far ahead). The advice of the AA is that winter tyres are not suited to summer use, but I don't really know why.
Also, think about insurance...I have seen conflicting advice as to whether you should tell your insurers or not.
Could also consider snow chains (either real chains or plastic ones) or snow socks.
Like everything else, it is going to be a compromise.

that about sums it up rob its the summer stopping distances with winter tyres that lets them down i think winter tyres start coming into theyre own at 7degrees and under also snow mud of course if i was gonna do it on yer little van id get the proper winter ones instead of the all rounders you ll get plenty part worn summer tyres or a set of steel rims from a scrappy wont break the bank good point Pollik is makin... its a good idea informing insurance company youve changed from the recommended tyre for the vehicle i know it sounds didums but its a clause that seems to crop up these days (has the vehicle been modified in anyway)
