Here's the deal.
I run a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop at home, it's about 6 or 7 years old? Might even be older!
Operates Windows XP and does everything I need it to, including all the regular office and business stuff like Word, Excel, Photoshop, Internet, Email, etc. etc. etc.
Now, I'm a bit of a Luddite and don't like jumping on the bandwagon of new technology unless there is a point to it; i.e. it's got to give me something really good and useful that I can't get with my existing kit.
What I would like is something I can take in the van that will give me all of the above business stuff (and possibly even replace the Toshiba).
For mobile telephone I have an iPhone, Neil has an iPad (which is fun, but pretty damn useless for serious stuff! )
I don't want to spend a fortune, but could be tempted if it's a long-termer.
I will be doing a bit of research into this myself, but as a lot of you guys are well up on some of the latest kit, I thought I'd ask your opinions.
So, a portable device that can:
1. Connect to the internet (taken as read, but I like to state the obvious!)
2. Connect to a printer
3. Has a decent size screen that I can see without getting eye strain.
I'm getting blind as a bat, and occasionally use the iPhone for web browsing, but I don't like it as I think all mobile phones are crap for serious web stuff
4. Will run all necessary business stuff: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Photoshop, Dreamweaver etc. etc.
5. Not TOO big (physical size-wise, that is)
6. Plenty of spare ports - I know a lot of stuff is wireless now, but I do like a bit of belt 'n' braces
I think that's all. Probably forgotten some stuff, but I'm just starting to get my head round this.
Any suggestions?
