Here's a few Android apps which I've found really useful :
Dropbox - free online storage with sync folders for android and desktop, you can access your docs online from anywhere and they will all sync to all your Dropbox folders. You can also have a public folder for photos that you want to share. You can earn extra storage by referring friends. If anyone wants to earn me some extra storage, please use my referral link db.tt/3QltZxqL
Kapersky - if you bank with Barclays you can download both desktop and mobile full versions of the most recent Kapersky for free. And Barclays also offers the Ping app for transferring money, I haven't used Ping yet (got no money to give away)
GPS Share - as recommended on Wild Camping for Motorhomes forum, this is an excellent app for sharing locations with other people either by text, email, facebook etc. Requires GPS (therefore large battery consumption).
Volume+ Free - a good app which boosts the maximum volume on your device, it's worked really well for me
Simple Moon Phase Widget - a nice free calendar app with a widget showing the phases of the moon
Swiss army knife - free app which is great for all those ex-scouts and guides, it has a torch, ruler, timer, stop watch, compass, bubble level, calculator, magnifying glass and mirror (so long as you have a phone with a front facing camera)
OS Atlas Lite - free version of OS maps
First Aid by the British Red Cross - up to date resus guidelines, gives a talk through guide for emergencies
Wifi File explorer - I was so impressed with the free version that I paid for the full version, makes transferring files from desktop to phone and phone SD card really easy, no need for a file manager app on the phone.
SMS Backup and Restore - back up your text messages to SD card or email
County - nice little free app for counting my rows when I'm knitting, but useful for other counting tasks
Days left widget - great for deadlines or big events, easy to customise
My Tracks - a free route tracker app, works well, requires GPS, but useful if you're walking back to the van from the pub and it's foggy and you can't quite remember exactly where you parked it...
Proboards - well worth the price, it makes reading this forum much easier than using the desktop website on mobile phone
I've had an Android phone for nearly 2 years now and have tried out loads of other widgets and apps, I'll keep posting more when I think of them.
Anyone else got any really useful apps to recommend?
