I have had a series of frustrating fridge problems, but they have all been fixed by the wonderful people on this forum Today I have a new one (problem that is, not a new fridge) The ice compartment is working perfectly, however the rest of the fridge is not. It was 20 degrees inside it! Fed up Anyone any suggestions on what I need to do now please?

Paul (Flyby) says it sounds as if the jets are blocked and need to unblock them with compressed air. Are you going to fix it meet?

Sometimes my fridge struggles to get down below 15 degrees on hot days.....with the freezer compartment working, like yours. I don't think that they are as efficient on gas as electric....maybe park with the fridge side away from the direct sunlight?.....failing that try giving it another blow job!

RT's answer is the likeliest.on a hot day these fridges need all the help they can get-this is why people put computer fans on the top vent to increase airflow for cooling, and as the rubbery, sorry, just had a Chinese, loverly chap says, having the fridge on the shade side will help

Thanks everyone. The fridge normally gets down much lower on hot days, and is pretty much always in the shade as it was today. It would appear that something is wrong, but it has very recently had the compressed air treatment. Definitely worth trying again though.
I'm not going to the Fix It meet.

It's not working on mains either, so does it still need a blast of air, or does that just fix gas problems? The freezer is still as happy as larry though

things to check, fuse, breaker on 240 side of things. if ok and you can use a meter, and confident with 240, with 240 on check supply at fridge, both at the connector and switch, you might need to disassemble things to get at it. tho depending on model, the switch illuminates if on, so that tells you supply to fridge is ok. if no 240 at fridge, problem is before then, connector at zig/control unit/fuse board ? if 240 at fridge probly thermocouple, turn off, disconnect thermocouple and test resistance if reads 0, its likely broke and will need changing. probly be good if you whip the fridge out anyway, easier to check things, and you can give it a good service at the same time, ie: blow the burner out, get a brush up the flue. if i'm rambling tell me, i'm not a morning person.

See what it is like today on a colder day. It's raining here!
If freezer works but fridge is not, unlikely to be supply fuse, but maybe control switch/thermostat/thermocouple.

Hi Chris , Has the Fridge been taken out lately as the symptoms look like poor cooling on heat exchanger or low coolent , if it has not been removed suggest removing vents on bodywork and seeing if you can clean behind fridge , as freezer is working on mains and gas this suggests that all supply's are ok
Cheers Chas
