What about meeting up somewhere and playing really loud music for the weekend.
I'm not thinking play our own instruments - far too difficult! Just bring music we like on CD's. I have a 1kw Genny which is pretty quiet. If someone has a decent sound system, we could power it off the Genny.
Plenty of dancing and drinking no doubt. Can someone do the sound system/DJ bit?
The question is what venue. We need somewhere fairly remote but central England at the same time.

not central england but the lazy Buzzard is remote and no problem with sound I'm deaf anyway, hee hee. Still you will see it for yourself end of August bring instruments, marquee will be up 9mtrs x 6mtrs so should keep us warm and dry. I still have some off Doodles beer for the meet and some cider though no ginger beer (damn) someone else snaffled that. I do have an amplifier and mics, mixer unit etc will have to sort a portable CD player, karaoke setup on the laptop as well but not managed to link it to the amp or even tried via the mixer yet maybe someone can come up with the answer to that

We could give it a small go at the Fix-it but there will be quite a few people from WC4MH and some of them will not appreciate loud/late music.
So it could be a tryout for our genny/sound system, but maybe not the full rave so as not to annoy anyone.
Do you have decent speakers/amp/CD player Wildman? That's all we need. I can provide quite genny 1kw if no power

Sean, the guy who runs the place has said we can put it on the poi. It' just up from Huttoft (which I've now seen!) and really good parking. 5 minute walk to the beach with no habitation too close. Great spot for a meet. Have you been to Huttoft? We'll have to get it on our db.

I think I have put Huttoft, Moggs Eye, and a few others round there on the Map - we can add that one. Have you got the Coords?
Maybe we could park up there and take stuff down to beach, although ideally we need parking next to beach somewhere. Or can we have our own recorded music gig outside the bar like the others did?
We probably also need a small marquee/tent to keep the equipment dry if it rains.

If you're thinking of playing music in public then you'll almost certainly need a licence and if it's an ad-hoc arrangement then it could be classed as noise nuisance for others - and noise travels! We were in a similar position with Live Hay'd and staged the first in a public area, albeit very secluded, and played/performed some copyright stuff. A way around it would be to book a village hall or other private venue, eg proposed woodland purchase, then the licencing and nuisance issues won't apply.

Did you see the venue on google earth? It's in the middle of nowhere. I'm sure it could be a private party........but obviously would need to patronise the bar!

I think we could manage to patronise the bar at £2.00 a pint, or even £2.50 a pint would not be too bad!!
We need some really big speakers though. I we can run a pair of 200W ones off the genny + some lights/CD player.

Just looked, the Lincolnshire coast near Hutoft may be quite a good venue.

LOL - shame Moggs Eye is closed off - that would be a good rave venue, but there are other places on that coastline.
When/if we get our woods, that will also be a good place:)
