I usually expect 600 to 650 miles from a tank. Takes about £120 to fill up at £1.40 a litre. 90 litre tank at about 35mpg. Effectively about 18 gallons useable. 18gallons x 35mpg = 630miles. Sometimes it is less than 600 though, if a lot of town driving.
That's about 20p a mile. Not bad for a 2.5litre diesel. But I only got 32mpg on my Scotland trip.

I average 47mpg but recently it's fallen to 43mpg, the only difference being I'm using the air-con on a high setting for each trip. Approx 14p per mile for 2 litre HDi engine.

Can't do the maths but I get 400-450 miles per full tank which costs just over £100 at current prices. If I drive over 60mph on motorway, mileage drops significantly. If parked up for more than a day, I run the engine for 20 - 30 mins, probably every few days at the moment so mpg and cost per mile includes that. Also having roof rack will affect it, and being a smoker, the window is nearly always open. So Transit costs roughly 25p per mile. Too complicated to work out mpg and not a lot of point these days except for comparison with other vehicles, but a friend with a standard height work Transit does about the same as me. My Peugeot Partner costs about 12-15p per mile depending how I drive. Again, driving over 60mph and the consumption rockets. I'm the one in the slow lane on motorways trundling along at about 56mph, slip streaming lorries, whilst most other white vans are flying past at 80 or 90 because it's a works van so they don't have to worry about fuel consumption and getting there quicker is more important . I'm happy to be thrifty and late

Vern! It's a transit engine in the Citroens & Peugeots, 120 bhp with the six speed box,its quite pokey aswell. Havn't had the van weighed lately but must be around the 3T mark.I think the Ducato uses an Iveco lump.

Oh mine is 120 BHP with six speed as well I think, or is it 125... pretty sure it is the Renault engine. 2006 vintage common rail - yours may be slightly newer engine type?

robmac what mpg are you gettin with the sprinter and were you in cumbria on thurs? Wotcha Gaz. I get about 30 MPG from the Sprinter but this can drop as low as 20 if you hammer it! I drove to Scotland on Thursday straight up the A1 to Edinburgh with the van stacked up with garden benches so didn't go through Cumbria, although I did come back on Friday down the M6 and across the A66 (van marked as 'Badger Benches'). By the way, I got an order the other day for a load of benches from Roger at the Navigation at Buxworth, where we held the photo meet.

But Roger has offered free accomodation and a few pints when I deliver so probably will do it on a Friday or Saturday! No, not a coincidence. I chatted with him at the photo meet and left him contact details and we did a deal!

I try to stay off the Turbo on mine as much as possible. That really does drop the fuel consumption. I haven't got any accurate empty to empty figures but I did a quarter of a tank around town with plenty of acceleration away from standstill, and I was getting only 25-28mpg.
