Equinox is fine. Only about 40-50 or so units camping on the track maybe. 200 in the stones at sunrise.
Solstice is a nightmare by all accounts. Track closed and too much officialdom.

Hope to make this, I'll only manage the Saturday night though as I'll probably have a hockey match in the day on Saturday. I'll confirm nearer the time.

Dear All,
The Autumn Equinox occurs at 20:44 hrs on the 22nd September 2013.
As agreed at the Round Table Group Meeting yesterday afternoon, celebration of the Autumn Equinox will take place at Stonehenge at dawn on Monday 23rd September.
The celebrations will take place at sunrise (approximately 06:56 hrs), however access might be restricted if the ground conditions are poor.
Visitors will be allowed into the Monument when it is considered sufficiently light to ensure safe access. The access will be from 06:15 hrs through to 08:00 hrs when visitors will be asked to vacate the site. With best wishes

Will this not compromise the ethos of small clandestine meets which this forum usually advocates?

Last year was fantastic as several members from here will also say ? A group of total strangers with all sorts of beliefs and all sorts of drink and drugs but not a bad word amongst them ! A great time was had by all and dogs were also included as my old boy stayed up all night with the drunken and mad musicians as Vernon will testify !

Does not answer the question. This behaviour gives wildcampers a negative press.
You may think it is a really good experience but the press will use it for whatever purpose suits THEM, not wildcampers.

Stonehenge has a long history involving both the local council and also the police ! The police were actually found guilty of being heavy handed so am guessing that they are more keen than ever to live and let live than ever before in this crazy world of ours that we call a civilized soiety where we treat anyone who is slightly different as abnormal !

So all this stealth stuff you advocate is really just a cover to make wildcamping appear to be respectable?

Oh, and I think you might find that Stonehenges history predates the rozzers.

My van is totally stealth ! Ask on another forum about wildcamping dot uk as they sell a nice line in ilegal camping places and advocate the use of many sensitive places as available for wildcamping !

Here at the moment (again) parked up on the north drove with Darren etc
The other drove is very busy now and dangerous for the dogs still being used a cut through to the A303
EH have now moved the entrance to coach/car park to the junction of the north drove

Not rising to the bait but people have been staying and camping here for 4000 odd years
