I think Kwik-fit also do an aircon refill service. I'm sure they wouldn't charge £50... could be wrong though!

Did same on my car but after a week got hot air again went to garage diagnosed as leaking condenser (citron) 90odd pounds for part and two hours labour. Radiator had to come out to change condenser , lost a bit of engine coolent so had top up antifreeze then had to bleed air out Bleeding screw made of plastic and snapped off ended needing a new hose which takes one week to order so no car for mayday bh Problem with old car fix one thing another thing breaks. never straight forward

Theres new gas in some of the new aircon systems....you WONT get it filled for £10, you'll be lucky if its £100 . In fact youll be lucky if you can find somewhere to fill it as the machines are £1000s

just to update...
i forgot to mention the aircon was making a hissing noise when i picked it up after the mot and unfortunately its the only mot garage with a high enough roof and ramp to get the van in for miles or i would not have used it in the first place having heard many a local negative whisper.
As for halfords,
I watched them fill the aircon at halfords, have since checked online and am satisfied he filled the system to the correct level for the temperature of the day and was entirely proffessional so i repeat - it s a bloomin bargain at 9.99 and nice to be able to report a job well done by halfords !

Garage got a flyer from a supplier today... The garage can buy the new gas for £199 per Kg!!!! (not that we have a new machine) And a garage will mark that up by maybe 50%-100% The avarage car holds 500-700g of the old type gas. If they hold the same amount of new gas I can see a lot of cars with aircon that doesnt work

Top up at 300g would be £100 + at those prices!

I paid £36 for a 500g re-gas in my 600g capacity-Berlingo. The average price based on 5 quotes was £60.

I paid £36 for a 500g re-gas in my 600g capacity-Berlingo. The average price based on 5 quotes was £60. and halfords would have done that for 9.99 because the lads dont care if it uses a bottle or two !!
