I'm staying overnight at top secret location near the Buxworth Arms, Whaley Bridge. If you're lucky I'll put it on the FMUK wilding map for you ;-) I've also spotted some other good locations on my travels

Had a good overnight stay over the road, and then moved onto the Navigation Inn Car Park for Sat Night, There's actually loads of space at the Navigation as it goes all along the Old Peak Tramway trail and end of the canal basin with big grass areas. We had a meal in the pub Sat night and then used the firepit as we found a pile of old scrap wood. So had a great time round the fire with guitars and chat. Splitty 67 came along and did some awesome songs and playing.

Neil said the grub at the food was average and a wee bit pricey for what it was. Don't know if anyone else thought the same? He had a great time, by the way, apart from having cold feet all night on the Saturday - that's cos I wasn't there for him to stick his cold tootsies on!!!

Had a great time, really nice bunch of people and good location. Neil was a bit of a hero Marie - we were all a bit worried about him in that little tent but he was very zen about it.! Also did quite a bit of cat hunting. As to food a lot of us had dinner on Sat, mine was absolutely delicious cheese and onion pie with chips and fresh veg, but think i was lucky as general opinion seemed to be it was so-so. Hope you get good news on your van soon

Neil will be posting some his Buxworth pics and vids up on t'other site later today (he's not a member of this one, I've asked him to join but he's not bothered. He doesn't use any of the wildcamping websites anywhere near as much as I do Hoping to pick the van up this Wednesday, Anne. Yippee!

I went on a couple of walks with Anne, Carol, Splitty, and Brenda. Somewhat of a scare with Splitty's cat, it may have been better on a long lead the first few times out in the van; in the absence of that, it ran off into the bushes and didn't come back till a day later But we didn't take that many photos... too busy talking! I'll try to post the best ones here. Met up with lots of new people, Gaz and Angie, Dave and Mary, and had a long chat with StoneDaddy last night. Impressed with Neil braving it in the cold and wet, but that's all part of the fun of tenting I guess

Too pricey for what it was though. It was very basic fare and they were charging top restaurant prices. eg 8 Oz steak £16.50 - very basic cooking and smallish portions. It was worth £8-10 max. Brownlow arms is better value - but then you pay for the camping there whereas Buxworth is free, so these places have to make their money somehow I guess.

Having used the pub carpark for a night, I always feel obliged to have a meal and some drinks. And equally as a customer I feel I should give an honest report on the food for others who wish to visit the venue. For me this was a 5 or 6 out of 10 on the food.

You've lost me! If I had to say 5 or 6 it would be 5. The best steak I had was in Paris. Bright red inside and perfect thin frittes with frisee lettuce and home made french mayonnaise. If you asked for a medium steak in there, you got shown the door! That was a 10.
