If you have trouble with finding coords on maps or of your fave places, longitude and latitude etc I have a tip that may help you. Try this website
www.flashearth.com
(Make sure you have Bing maps with "labels" selected - this makes it easier to find things)
Zoom and pan around as normal. Use the + crosshairs to locate your spot. On the left in the panel it will give the long and lat coordinates of your place. You can then add these to a post to describe your spot and if you click on "permanent link" in the left hand panel it will give you a web address in the bar at the top with the coordinates in. You can copy/paste this to your post too.
I hope this also works with the ipad and other devices. I think it should, it uses "flash" which is a very common plug in for all kinds of computers.
This may help other people as I think Flash Earth is easier to use than Google maps or Google earth. It has less bells and whistles and no street view but it is very fast which is good for smaller machines and it is all online which means you don't have to download or install anything. (As long as you have the flash plug-in)
Everyone can locate their spots using this. Post them in the county locations forums and then Polly, Kangooroo, wvw, or me should be able to pick up your posts and update the Google map.
Put in descriptions about your locations such as toilet/pub nearby or no facilities or "gets busy at weekends" limited access, height barrier etc etc. This is where we will score heavily over other websites, as we will give more info on the places not just the coords.
