Bought a CREE torch from Lidl a couple of months ago, fantastic bargain (Sold in some campshops for anything upto £20) bought for £9.95p. Three years ago I bought one of their portable Satellite TV kits for £60. Still got it, works well.

Oooo, thanks for posting EllisBoy the inverter is exactly what I need - currently using one borrowed from Brewkit. I did buy one from Amazon but when it came it was tiny, didnt work and everyone said it would be in serious danger of overheating!

I got one of those last year and was very excited about it. Sadly it did diddely squat in my van There was no point in me even carrying it anymore. BAck at Lidl I then got a little halogen one. Neither heater actually heats the van, but the halogen gives off a good amount of heat to warm you if you are close enough to it.

Neither heater actually heats the van, but the halogen gives off a good amount of heat to warm you if you are close enough to it. I used one at the weekend (similar). As Christine says, little effect really just about takes the chill out of the air, I was impressed with it when I first got it, but that was probably not used in a properly cold environment, good for leaving on permanently for frost protection I suppose when van is laid up, but I would imagine that would be costly. Sitting in Splitty's van with his woodburner going at the weekend was a different matter! Warm as toast with the advantage you could cook on it too, and you can usually find some fuel for free.
