Who is going and what days?
Where are we camping?
What are you doing about tickets?
I know it's been mentioned before to go and support WindDancer and Corrie but I'm not sure of the arrangements.

We've booked tickets for the Saturday - only £10 each.
Was hoping to book The Bridge at Napton for a couple of nights but I think they are closed now.
Last time we went to Brum we stayed at Oaklands Farm 357 Birmingham Road Budbrooke Warwick Warwickshire CV35 7DZ
Lovely C & CC site next to a canal and only about £8 per night.

Can you sit anywhere with your tickets or are they numbered seats?
I'd probably wild camp at Shustoke reservoir car park like we did for the NEC show in October. It's free and plenty of space for people with dogs, nice walks round the reservoir etc.
What happens Sunday at the show, is Chris on Saturday?

Not sure if the tickets are numbered as they've not arrived yet.
Where is Shustoke reservoir and would there be room for us too?
Would be lovely if you could come down Anne - I know Jess wants to come too.

It's here: goo.gl/maps/Cbx2JFollow Reservoir Drive round to the left and there is a car park at the end of it. There's a pub just over the road too. I wouldn't stay all day but if we're off at 9.00am or so and back at 7.00pm I think there would be room for maybe 5 or 6 vans. Could fit a lot more in the car park, but wouldn't want to abuse it with a huge number. StreetView Pic: goo.gl/maps/fo7avThe Google car went right into the car park so you can go for a virtual walk and plan your pitch!

Brilliant! I'm really excited about seeing some of you there!
I'm trying to get info about the seating, but I'm hoping you don't need extra tickets. I haven't been notified that they are an extra requirement, but I can see them advertised on the web. I wonder if they have a seating section but the rest is free standing?
I'll try and find out.

I bought tickets a while back, when Chris first mentioned it. The tickets are just for entry into Crufts for Saturday 9th and give access to all areas. (I don't think they include parking though.) However, I also spotted the other day that the obedience and working events on the Saturday will be in the Obedience Ring in Hall 5... and Chris confirmed that's where she'll be.
OK, here's the confusing bit... they say on the website that you need additional tickets specifically for obedience ring 5 because it's a reserved, seated area. So I emailed for help via the website contacts form... as follows:
******************** My friend is taking part in the Good Citizen Stakes on the morning of Saturday 9th March between 9am and 12pm. I've already bought normal tickets for the day but I've noticed that additional tickets are required for Obedience Ring 5 and my friend has confirmed that this is where she's been told she'll be. The website doesn't really make it clear, so I'd be very grateful if you could confirm whether or not this event will require the additional tickets for a seated area. Many thanks. Jennie Johnson ********************
Here's the reply I received yesterday afternoon:
Hi You only need to purchase a ticket if you wish to reserve a seat for the whole day, we do have a certain amount of seats that are available on a first come first serve basis free of charge. Regards Cheryl Lowe Events Co-ordinator 0844 4633 980 Ext 315 mailto:cheryl.lowe@thekennelclub.org.uk
Not a totally crystal clear answer but putting this together with some snippets of info on the website, I think I'll take my chances without buying an extra ticket for a seat. The rest of the show was definitely not seated when we last went there... you could wander around and watch whatever you liked.
Hadn't give too much thought about where to camp as yet but I think Sue had some ideas. Is Napton permanently closed Millie or is it just because of the flooding? The C&CC site sounds reasonable.

Looks like I've cocked this up completely I went on the website and bought 4 £10 tickets which I thought were for access to obedience ring 5 which is where Chris is competing. Do you need extra tickets to get into the main event as well? The website is really misleading. Also............it looks like we're double booked that weekend so may not be able to go after all Anyone want 4 seated tickets?

See my link above for the reservoir car park Jennie. We stayed there before and it's free. Only 5 miles from NEC. Pub over the road!

Oh no Millie! I'm sure if that's the case they will swap them over for you. If you have any problems let me know and I may be able to get something done via my contacts that are running this event. I really do hope you can make it though! I'd love to see you there You must stop making all these double bookings! Thanks for your info Jennie, that makes more sense to me, I was sure you just wandered around and have pot luck seating. TBH it shouldn't be too bad in the morning, it's the afternoons that are the busiest. I also emailed the KC to get clarity on things as this event is not even listed on the web yet! I'll keep you all posted

Aw Millie, I agree - the website is soooo confusing I've read it again and again and it's still not totally clear about the seated tickets but my instinct is that you have to have a general admission ticket before you can get in at all. I guess the best way to know for sure is to email the woman linked on the tickets page... it's the same one who answered my email - cheryl.lowe@thekennelclub.org.uk. If no-one else can use your tickets, maybe try for a re-fund? Sorry you won't be there though.

Thanks Chris and Jennie - I've emailed them so fingers crossed.
When I bought the tickets there were no other tickets available to purchase on the website. I've just had a look and they now have general admission tickets available - that'll teach me for jumping the gun.!!!

www.crufts.org.uk/ticket-officeYou need a general admission ticket at 14 + 1.25 + 2.00 = £17.25 By the time they've added on all the extras it would be better buying a £17 ticket on the door! I think I'm going to buy on the door. No advantage in paying up front.

OAPs, registered disabled, carers and students get in for £10

|
Post by Firefox on Jan 12, 2013 12:43:25 GMT
It's £10 for OAPs plus booking charge plus transaction fee = £13.00
Or on the door.... £13.00, so again it works out the same or nearly the same.

Reservoir car park would be OK to leave some vans for the day so long as they fit in parking bays and are not all clumped together. There's plenty of space to spread out to different places in the car park. Also there are other places in Shustoke to leave big vans.

You'd be better off arriving after 8ish at shustoke resevoir in March, the sailing club lot will all have left by then & it would save a lot of un needed attention. Much mis spent time there has taught me this don't go to far round to the left as you'll end up next to the road & it's quite busy/noisy at times I may stagger over to say hello if I can find my way out of the plough ;D

Cheers. We did have a night there in October for the NEC show. I can't remember what time we arrived but I think it was about 8 or 9. Both Anne and I managed to run quite late we were going to get there at 6pm. I took the wrong junction off the M6 though and lost about 40 mins trying to find my way round the delights of Birmingham in the dark with only a 3 miles to an inch road atlas But by the time we did get in, it was empty Will probably go in the goo.gl/maps/opyoe for a couple, so may see you in there!
