This is just a point of interest. How much do you pay for your bottled LPG ? The reason i ask is because there is a big difference in price between my local main supplier & some other local retailers.
Here's my scenario. A 6kg of LPG with a regular threaded valve for the regulator will cost me £21.50 deposit for the bottle & then £19.50 for the gas thereafter. That is from the main dealer in my area & it's Flogas. If i go to the most popular retailer nearby & bought the same size in Calor, it would cost me £68 all in !! I didn't even stop to ask how much the gas alone would be thereafter, i just fell over backwards, farted & then left the shop.
Suffice to say that i buy my gas from the cheaper guy.
It is strictly a civil offense as you are breaking the contract with the botttle supplier.
Also many garages will stop you if they see you, so be discreet. Fill in a cradle inside the back doors not on the forecourt.
Fill from empty, and fill twice the Kg weight in litres or less eg 6Kg = 12 litres 13kg = 26 litres. Definitely don't overfill if anything, underfill.
If you're really cautious, you can check the bottle later on some bathroom scales and subtract the weight of the empty bottle to find the fill. Let a bit out if you have too much, but I've always been fine.
kernowjon: Hi we nearly always freecamp - old age pension gives loads of leisure time but too little money to pay camp site fees. The van has solar panel, large water tank So we are pretty self sufficient. Jon
