I thought I would go along this weekend.
It's about an hours drive from J15 M1, so I have gone off today digging in the wood to put in some more parking tiles.

It's hard work digging and levelling off ground, so I stopped back at the www.pinpetchthairestaurant.co.uk/ in Newport Pagnall before returning to Rutland Water. Got some apples for billieblue in town. It takes about an hour to drive back to Rutland Water from Newport Pagnell. Quite good roads, M1 to J15 Northampton, then A43 to Kettering, A14 and then A43 and A6003 to Corby, Uppingham, and Rutland Water. This is quite a scenic route - quite hilly and rolling countryside. Rockingham Castle area is nice.

Pretty good meet at Rutland. Saturday spent at the wood. 120 miles in the van. Came back for a couple of halfs at the Wheatsheaf, Edith Weston. Sunday went on a 4 mile round trip walk to www.thekingsarms-wing.co.uk/ Wing and then the Jockey at Manton. robmac that pub in Wing where Julia bradbury goes may be under new management - the beer was not too expensive, I think £3.30/£3.40. We didn't eat there though. Had dinner later with stonedaddy and billieblue and Alec Thanks for the dinner stonedaddy - very nice after that walk! Monday went on a 5 mile there and back walk to the Wheatsheaf at Edith Weston again. Played the guitar round the campfire. There was lots else going on at the meet too, most of which I missed as I was away from the site walking.
