Charlie has just bought a Winnebego so X can give you his review. I think they are great generally but my personal doubts would be: 1. Mpg. The engines are massive and expect no more than 8-14 mpg depending on which one you get. 2. Size. Not really designed for UK roads so you may be limited where you can go and where you can park, again depending on the size you get. Some of the smaller ones may be OK though.

Well Suzie, only you know how you feel about driving something like that but I agree with Firefox's reservations. Be good for a party though!

BTW your current van Sue - £2500 to £4000 ? You don't tend to get the true value of the parts, van, and labour when selling self-builds second hand. You may be luckier though, if a buyer likes it

Don't know anything about that make Sue but it looks in good condition. As to selling yours £3000 to £4000 easy people will pay a little more for a good fit out. Start a bit high allowing them to knock you down a bit that way you nearly always get what you wanted for it. Has worked for me. Good luck

There is some good advice on the price and selling if yours but the van you purchase is down to you chick I personally do not like the overcab bulbous looking vans I prefer a more streamlined look but it us you that is buyingcand driving so only you can descide but good luck with the search.

They are wide so bare that in mind but other than being a bit thirsty they really do put the ice cream van Euro boxes to shame on build quality . Parts, are,no more and to be honest you will get them faster than for a Euro box. Getting used to driving it takes time but now just stop and let them make room for us . We have all day and can make a brew so no worries .

Been to look at the van...I really liked it...but it was big (not so much of a problem) but no LPG conversion and averages 15 MPG....its a v10 engine. The guy has it on his drive for £10.1195 but basically offered it to me for £9000, its at £8000 on ebay at the mo and finishes Fri 11.23. Its got 9 seat belts..!! sos good for taking family on weekends!! BUT how often would i take the family?? mostly id be on my own or with Geoff...do i really need it that big? and can i justify what it will cost in petrol for my travels to have the comfort??? STILL thinking about it though lol

Is that the seller's provided mpg? I would be very wary of that figure. It's a 6.8 litre engine I think. Search around the net and see what mpg people are getting on that engine. It seems to be 8-11 mpg. You may get 15 on a downhill run with the wind behind you at 50 mph!

what about the one Tom posted Sue? It didn't reach its reserve so might still be available. And if you are looking around do look out for Autosleeper conversions they do coach build and vans and have been in the market for years, their conversions are always really good quality and practical with loads of thoughtful touches, I wouldn't go for that gas guzzler will cost you a fortune to travel in it. There are plenty of roomy vans about if you want bigger without going to something that big. get an awning for the family!
