Were looking at going away in the next few weeks, hoping to spend most of our time off-site. To put it delicately....ahem... we had an emergency bucket to use on 1night stopovers but think that we're going to need something better if we're going to be away from facilities longer. As we have a Transit, we dont have lots of space. Anyone got advice on what portable toilets are good? Cheers to all :-)

well that was disappointing ! from the thread title i hoped you might have an actual talking toilet !
Go Outdoors do a reasonably priced small loo. they're all about the same quality-wise i reckon, nut get one out the box and ensure all moving parts move easily

PMSL - cheers for that... I've "talked to a bog" on a few occassions during my yooof...but far more refined now dont you know :-)
Like most things, I reckon that you would get brand names that become known for both good points and bad ones. Just looking for some ideas. It was looking in Go Outdoors last night that made me think "why not ask"? Seemed to range from £60 to £135...but wouldn't have the space for the dearer option (phew :-).

I bought the porta potti excellence they are about £90 but they are taller than the average loo and very stylish and easier on my knees than those very low ones that fit in a cupboard I then made a cover to match the soft furnishing in my van so it looks like a single seat. I also have talked to mine at some of the meets it being a taller toilet its easier on the back when bending over to talk to it lol

I have got the Porta potti 465. It has the "luxury" electric flush I got it because it has the bigger 21 litre waste tank so lasts longer between empties. At about 420mm cube it may not fit in what space you have, but in reality, all the Porta Potti range are much of a muchness, the real difference being tank capacity. Just choose the biggest one you can accommodate. The Porta Potti 135 is only 10 litres but at 310 x 380 x 340mm it may fit your space better - measure and see Link to Thetford range with dims

Foul manhole is another. May need some suitable manhole keys which can be bought at low cost.

public bogs, dig a hole in the woods ,through the enemy's letterbox etc Glad to see that getting rid of via hole in pockets in a Great Escape/Colditz style is not in fashion
