Hi
I am keen to add some new WCL's on here but am not very good with map locations. When I find the place on Google Maps how do I ascertain the eastings and northings for it please?

This is a link to one www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/52.5265418,0.9928544/52.5264551,0.9927823/@52.5280388,0.9872608,14z
Are those numbers starting with 52. and O. the ones I need to quote?
I have never had much success in putting these numbers into my Garvin Sat Nav so I am, therefore, not confident in quoting them for others so use

Hi. You are right the numbers will be something like 52.751289,0.474713 for the UK
Northings (latitude) 51 to 57 range Eastings (longitude) -5 to 1 range. Separated by a comma (NB For certain sat navs they may have to be in a different format - depends on the sat nav). The above works with most devices and Google maps though.
If you want co-ordinates go to Google maps Classic
1. Find your place
2. Right click on the map where you want
3. From the pop up menu select "what's here"
4. The coordinates will appear in the search bar at the top
5. You can copy and paste them
If you want to post a link to the place
1. Find your place and the map screen/zoom you want
2. Click on the chain icon (link) which is usually below the search bar and just to the left of the pan icon with the 4 arrows on it.
3. From the pop up, tick the box with short URL
4. You can now copy and paste the URL into messages. (The URL you pasted above is a bit long and I think it got cut off)
I recommend using Google Maps classic and a PC for all the above operations... it may not work on android/ipad
Welcome to the forums!
