You were spot on. About 2.00am - had a fabulous guitar session with Glenn till about 4.00 am and some rum with herbs etc Sorry if we kept you up Jo...! Still 7 hours sleep till it kicks off tomorrow.
Chris, if you read this, we are in the SE corner of red dot car park, 2 mins walk from venue.

Met up with everyone this afternoon. Having a great time. Fave bands so far, Gaz Brookfield and Funky and the two tone Babe.

So an update. Ferocious Dog were brilliant as usual. I would have paid £25 just to see them live. Mark Chadwick from the Levellers also pretty good. All the bands tonight had a few sound problems. But still buzzing from Ferocious Dog though - fantastic act

Just woke in time to say goodbye to Chris and pick up Lidl bongos. Still in venue car park, hoping to stay another night and explore the town tomorrow and give dogs a good run in Sherwood forest.
Fab day yesterday, missed a couple of good bands because of chatting to folk but saw all the evening bands. FD were the best, a great live band, and itwas a fantastic atmosphere, my knees are aching from too much jigging around.
It's been pretty cold, sharp frost on fri night, and subzero, milder last night but raw today with sleety hail showers. The bio ethanol heater is a god send!
A quiet evening of bongo playing for me tonight.

Sorry to hear Al. You can get lucky with those cambelts, but often it will mean a bent valve or piston damage. Did you hear any clatter when it died, that can be a clue... good luck with it!

Cheers Vern, definitely made a noise, me turning the engine over a few times afterwards before I realised what the problem might be, didn't help I guess. Hopefully bent valves and not damaged pistons..but imagine they wont know til they take the head off!
Glass half full...At least I saved fuel riding home in the breakdown truck!! Hah

Many thanks to outtolunch for getting the bongos for us. They did need tuning in my case, the big one was done up far too tight and sounding higher than the small one. How you want the difference to sound is up to you but one common way is to have them a 4th/5th apart like D/G and G/C or C/F etc. Like timpani in an orchestra. Then you get that bim/bam sound. I have played percussion in a couple of local orchestras. I can't work out whether it was because I was the only one brave enough to fill in, or whether it was a subtle comment on my violin playing!

Have You Learnt Anymore 'bout the Venue's Future Vernon? I think it is the bass player that owns a share in the Venue. Thus the link may be severed, but they are all from that area so they may keep it on with the new band - who knows?!

Cheers, Garage has tried a new belt first, but says its sheared bolt that holds a camshaft, so next step is head off to see the damage, hopefully not to bad and just valves, but cost is likely to be from 800 upwards !! eek!!
No van.. means no work. Luckily I still had my trusty old T4,it,d been standing for about 7 months..a new battery and started first time! MOTed, taxed and insured it yesterday, so at least I got wheels, and can start back working.. to pay for it all!! haha
