Sorry Vern, I do love your 70s flowery chair but it's a picnic chair... now this is a classic deckchair We've got one just like this with the arms. Your comment prompted me to have a browse around and the one in the photo now costs £250!!! Ebay here I come...

I didn't mean my flowery one, I mean my dark green and purple striped one! Not *the* classic deckchair shape, but still classic on account of its age

Purple and green is very Wimbledon I took a couple of green and white striped picnic chairs to the dump the other day... and regretted it immediately afterwards. We had to clear out the shed because mice had moved in and we were quite surprised at the stuff we found hidden at the back! I kept the old deckchair with arms because it's got bags of character, despite needing a bit of tlc and a new powder blue paint job... but I dumped the standard picnic chairs, even though they were absolutely perfect! What was I thinking? At least the mice moved out...

Hey Puk looks great. There is a guy on my estate that has two of those. One is all jacked up in his garden which he uses for spares. The other is parked on the road outside his house. Its all hand painted but I've never seen it go anywhere. .... Tom ....

Aw shucks, they can be hand painted and there is a tinkers paint mix some people use for campers and caravans, would love to have one for spares though!!
