Threads on here about this.heres my ramblings.....I would like to upgrade to give us more space and facilities, but after seeing how easy it was to park the panel van in any space , and throw it round tight turns etc whilst 'over there', Im reluctant to choose a bigger vehicle. Also its our only vehicle, so has to do the Tesco run and day to day duties. Waiting for the return ferry,at Santander, I was looking at the profile of larger motorhomes, compared to luton vans..ie cab over body etc.Would be easy to kit out a luton van, change the external profile, by rounding off some of the corners, add some panels either side below body line, with lockers in.But I think even a luton body would be a bit too wide to park in tight spaces.

If it's your only vehicle then your better off with a panel van.LWB would give the most space, but you could use a MWB if your clever with the layout.Mines a LWB and six metres long.its not my daily driver ,but it's very easy to drive with good turning circle etc,and with cameras fitted on the back, easy to reverse.I find that supermarket bays are very narrow anyway ,even for a car so I tend to park over the back where you can reverse in and hang the arse end over the bay. Saying that there are some nice looking lutons about now with rounded fronts,Iveco make a nice one,the ex laundry vans even have side doors fitted and are walk through from the cab area. They are slightly wider than a panel can though.

Saw a couple with a sprinter van nicely fitted out , but after speaking to a merc mechanic whilst in spain, Im a bit put off, as he reckons the later ones are a pig to work on and parts expensive.my transit is 10 ft 6ins rear of cab to rear doors.i ineed something around 14 ft I think.with high roof and 6 ft wide for sleeping cross ways.we are finding the slide out bed a real chore toset up each day.

So many styles and choices! Had ambulances many yrs ago, Transit and cf's lots of space when the kids were little, and great holidays in this country.never tried a permanent bed area in one.A mate came up with a layout that seemed to 'work' so we always used that in each one.

Yes, wrong link. This is Anne's van: The Legend - quite compact I think it is the length of my van about 5.5m though of course a bit wider.

Some of those ebay links can be dodgy. They also delete them at some time later after the auction finishes
