HI members just found your great site interesting. Towed a caravan for years but have decided to sell end of month and build a 5 berth camper. Base vehicle fiat ducato maxi 120 .Any layout information would be a great help.

Welcome!
What are dimensions of load space of your van (width x length)
5 berth can be tricky in a van because you don't have a dormer above the cab.
Double Fixed bed at rear + Dinette seating converting into a double plus a small single laying across cab seats or cab seats swivelled seems the most obvious.
Another option may be bunks or a high top. Perhaps a transverse double bunk to the rear raised up about 1m and single under it on the floor, with a small garage space to the rear of the single bed accessed by the back doors.

Hi thanks the dimensions rear are 4m length 1.87m width I think prob double bunks at rear and may be single hammock front seats may be an option.

Double bunks at rear will mean a bummer for the person at the back on the lower... very closed in. But that's one option... Depends on how dinette converts. If it goes double you'll be OK with double and single bunk at back which gives you garage too.
Either way you'll have 4-1.25-1.25 = 1.5m left in the middle to fit a kitchen on one side and toilet/shower on the other. Both bed area occupants can get to those in the night if needs be. If you integrate the cab with swivel seats for a bed you'll get an extra 0.5m space to spend on the kitchen/toilet area. Probably wardrobes and/or storage.
Also consider emergency exit during night and leaving some of sliding door clear for fast exit when beds are up.

Nice link, OH... I checked out the 5 berths and couldn't see how they worked though - must be me - dohhh.
Edit - Just got it I think. Looks tight without dims though, and sliding door may be blocked at night I'm not sure.

Thinking of using swivel double front seat not sure how well these work I could then get away with double seat behind that will save a bit more space.

Never seen a swivel double front seat. I have seen a double front where the seat base stays in place and the backrest part moves forward.

Ooh and welcome.

well if ya sit in the back of a car ...your sitting on a bench seat so i cant see you it would be a safety issue if you secured it properly and all had belts
but then how does it perform in a crash test car seats are built for safety in mind now...there could be that
