Even though its a tragedy that has caused all this male attention. Make the most of it love nothing like a damsel in distress to bring out the heroic male. Don't forget to drop the little white silk handkerchief and other hand on forehead just before you swoon.

Yes, I don't know Mark, but he pm ed me Friday I think, then phoned me. He is on his way back from Austria back to London and has offered to come to Rouen to see how he can help. Isn't that amazing? Especially as he's never met me.....he could be helping out a monster for all he know! Better warn him! Thank god your getting sorted...I take my hat off to all on the forum who have supported you and tried to help just wish there was something i could have done too. Just get home safe and and then get things sorted. I know how much you love your van You will have to fill me in on all the gory details over a vino next time we meet. There is always a spare bed in my van or sleeping bag in the awning if you need it till you get sorted!!!! Big hugs

Thanks Anne may take you up on that. I really can't imagine life without my little van to jump into....still that's something to worry about in the future, plenty other things to deal with now...I'm dreading seeing the van tomorrow. I can envisage the chaos inside, but have no idea what the top looks like. I know I could see the sky but not sure if that was just the skylight! That's worrying me as I think the woman from the insurers said something about if it's gone passed the skylight it probably will be a write off.

She may be thinking the skylight is in the normal steel roof, not a fibreglass high top. Unless there's lots of other damage, it really doesn't sound like a write-off

I wish I could say you're right John! I know it shouldn't be a write off, but the insurers will undervalue the van which makes the cost of repairs a higher percentage. Which is how they work it out according to someone I spoke to.
