It's been snowing here today too. Quite big flakes this time. Not really settling though it has been too warm I think.

Oh could you smell that, I heard about it on 5 live. Mind you I probably could not have smelled it, my sense of smell is really bad.
But it was part of the agent they use to give an odour to gas I think.

Now you may think I'm being a bit paranoid here but consider this: In 2007, on a scorching hot summer's day I laid up a gable end of a house with half a ton of sand and cement render. Out of nowhere came this gert big thunderstorm backed up by a brisk breeze and washed the whole lot off.....heartbreaking! Checking on the rainfall radar on the Met Office website later that evening I discovered that the place where I was working was the only place in the UK where it rained that day!
Since then I've cycled the nearly all of the coastline of Britain and in each following summer, wherever I have been, it has rained. I even spoilt Charlie and Karens' wedding by bringing my pet weather front with me!
Sometimes I have returned to the van in my soaking wet waterproofs after a day's pedalling to find the roads completely dry and local people telling me it hasn't rained there all day. I think in six years there have only been the same amount of days where I've been confident enough not to pack the waterproofs. The exception to this was a glorious two week spell last summer cycling along the south coast fifty miles east and west of Worthing.....this is where David V (startrekker) lives and he's a great big ray of sunshine..... big enough to keep the rain away for miles around!
From the beginning of October till Christmas I've had mostly outside rendering jobs and have worked out that I've averaged just a two day week and most of those days were spent working in the rain.
So why does it always rain on me? "Is it because I lied when I was seventeen"? What has really convinced me that someone or something up there is piddling on my parade is that the day before yesterday on an otherwise cloudless day I was at work having a cuppa indoors before starting when, the moment I stepped outside, from out of the deep blue sky came this fecking great big shower which proceeded to soak me and the wall I was just about to cover!
Deep down of course, I don't really believe any of this but some my friends are starting to. A few of them are avoiding me....and it can't be the smell, I have a shower/bath at least once a fortnight now!
Anyone else feeling like this? Or do I need to seek professional help?

It's just the time of year, youre abviously suffering from SAD syndrome. You need more vitamin C my suggestion is to drink more, try cherry brandy that's got friut in it. If that doesn't work then come away from sunny cornwall and see how the rest of us are coping in the dark dismal rest of the country or perhaps you just need some indoor work for a while, rendering at this time of the year is never a good idea.

Aye, working indoors for the next six weeks so expect a heatwave if you're anywhere near me!
I'm off to make my fortune by having a wager with Mr Hill on when it's going to rain. Should be easy, all I have to do is step outside!

I know I'm bonkers and it might just be the side effects of the pills or the Baileys or other things which help me pretend I'm relatively normal but I'm sure it was snowing here last night when I went to bed, about 3 am... woke up this morning, no trace of any snow

Just the other night a usual spring tide backed by a force ten gale turned into a tsunami which a bunch of us surfed all the way up to Bodmin moor! Woke up in the morning exactly where I went to sleep......Spooky!

Mark what are you drinking? I should change it before it does you any more mental harm. Or is it the season for magic mushrooms I though it was much later in the year.

Magic mushrooms are usually last week in September, first three in October.
It's been really windy round here the last few hours. I think I saw on the forecast it was going to get worse!

May be he's got some dried magic mushrooms. Lovely sunny day here a bit cold in the wind though. Just getting gradually colder for the weekend at Stonehenge, can't wait to get the cold weather gear out.

S'alright for you lot. You live closer to Stonehenge than me. D'you know I've never been? Maybe this year... Blowing a gale here with the odd spell of freezing cold, horizontal rain. Snow flurries forecast. Sigh.

Snow flurries forecast. Sigh. I've never actually been to Stonehenge, but have only ever driven past it a few times, usually in some kind of military vehicle, some twenty odd years ago when (for some strange reason) I used to enjoy running round Salisbury Plain with a backpack weighing half as much as me, in boots which knackered my achilles tendons, carrying a rifle, and digging holes in the ground to sleep in. Sigh, the things we do when we're young!! So perhaps us hardy Northerners should have a convoy expedition to the scary south and do the Stonehenge thing together. Ditto re weather here, no chance of the damp patch in the Transit drying out So I might do some girly stuff instead like double lining curtains, and making co-ordinating cushion covers, throws etc for the Tranny instead.

Yep, I definitely didn't dream it, it did snow last night.... and still is... a good few inches now. My neighbour cleared part of the road first thing and he needn't have bothered, it's covered again. The snow was fun first time round, now it's just a pain in the a**e
