Convoy 1 costs: Me: Diesel, Ferries, Food and drink £400 Dad: Diesel, Ferries, Food and drink £400 Other expenses, eating and drinking out, attractions etc £200 Approx Total cost of holiday for me, £600 for two weeks. Not bad considering the places we got to. Breakdown: Diesel £310, ferries £272 , food £218 (for 2) = £200 pp/pw (for 1 it would have been Diesel £305, ferries £242, food £120 £333 pp/pw) (for 1 without ferries £305 + £120 = £212 pp/pw) We could have had a good trip without the ferries as per convoy 2 and last years trip, but the islands gave an extra dimension to the tour. All in all for around £200 pw + eating/drinking out where you want to it's an excellent value holiday and you see loads of things compared to the average package tour to Costa Drunken Brits

My eyes are watering at those costs, especially £120 for food for one person! What did you eat - Caviar?! The fuel is unavoidable: my own fuel bill was £263 for 2,334 miles and I covered a lot more of Scotland than you. It's still an expensive trip but a one-off and, as you say, we see and experience far more than enduring a trip to Costa-Drunken Brits.

If you exist on kitkats and fish fingers then you can eat for much less! Plus there is the wine, Guinness, and malt whiskey tab to consider

This was a lovely beach on a holiday camp. I can't remember where it was as Onion decided to pay us a visit and within five minutes of arriving he hired a mini bus and dragged all of us off to a village pub a few miles out. We did push the boat out a bit but not on the beach unfortunately. .... Tom ....
