For me coffee is always black, the stronger the better. This one is good: It's also got guarana in it I quite like espresso but usually have a black Americano for a longer drink. It doesn't seem possible to order just a coffee now. Luckily I don't have milk, so the lattes , cappuccinos, and frappuccinos don't present any ordering problems. I don't really drink tea much, but if I do, I have that without milk too, much to some people's astonishment, I'm not sure why. One is allowed to have lemon tea, but black tea raises some eyebrows. Black tea and coffee is good for camping. No fiddling around with milk or sugar or teaspoons, no milk to go off, easier washing up, and it's still quite drinkable cold.

When I'm tent camping, I take a tube of condensed milk, saves carrying milk and sugar. I like Kenco coffee and very, very strong.
Hardly ever drink tea.

i had 3 cups of coffee last year thought i was doing well till the cold snap came and customers offered me hot drinks but didnt have tea i like my tea in a massive mug hot white with two sugars not with milk in before tea bag tho....... oh no thats nasty and sacrilege ..word

I've heard if you put milk in with the tea bag it clogs the pores and the flavour doesn't get out properly - I don't know if that's true or not though.

I like my tea quite often from morning till night,white 2 sugars,in a white mug,coloured mugs are just weird.once or twice a day I have coffee for a change,and often regret drinking the disgusting muck

I've heard if you put milk in with the tea bag it clogs the pores and the flavour doesn't get out properly - I don't know if that's true or not though. i have been told that tea must be made with boiling water (but not over boiled as it has no oxygen init then) poured over the tea bags when it is mashed add milk and sugar if thats yer thing...adding milk first cools the boiling water in yer cup and then ya dont get the full flavour if you notice in the chinese tea ceromonies they pour the water onto the leaves from a great height ..maybe to add oxygen? oh and is it true you cant use boiling water for coffee a few degrees below or it ruins it or is unhealthy..... dunno can anyone educate me on that one ?

Like tea, strong white, preferably Tetleys (but quality varies) or Yorkshire, bit of sugar, and coffee prefer instant to ground I think, not too strong a flavour, milk and 1 sugar, and like them to be hot as possible, its not as nice when its started to cool. Tea ideally should be left for 7 minutes to get all the anti oxidants out, but as its nearly cold by then I tend to just leave the bag in the cup. Also even though my other half never drinks tea and only occasionally has a coffee, is the one that usually makes it.

Daft really, as I generally let it cool before drinking it. This is tea I'm talking about and drink doubles ( if it's made with teabags). All very unhealthy I'm sure - judging by the stain it makes on cups and by what the specialist in the geriatric ward said. She is the only "professional" to tell me to cut down my consumption. She was probablt right; I now have three pints of it a day, instead of eight.
Btw, the " must be hot" thing is strange. We were working for some Jewish people - both retired doctors/consultants. The tea came three times a day on a tray with a huge selection of biscuits. It was always piping hot. I know it's supposed to wetted at 100centigrade to brew it properly, but this stuff - which was very good - was red hot. I found out why one day. We hadn't heard her call when she put out the tray, so the tea cooled down. She immediately took it back in and MICRO-WAVED it! That's the way she did it - just like the Canadians and Scandinavians.
Each to his own. When we were in Australia the water supply was in big pipes coming over the top of the ground for miles. It used to be warm enough for a comfortable shower. One old fella from Leith ( Edinburgh) used to pinch teabags from the mess and make a brew at night using water straight from the shower! FFs!
Mind you the best tea out there was made in the buille can. Smoke and all it was great! The general stuff at the mine was gross. They used to pour lukewarm water from a burco through leaves in a strainer. Poor stuff altogether.

I've no idea if that's true or not, but instant coffee definitely tastes better if you let the kettle stand, for about a minute, before making the coffee I always drink black coffee, because I can't see the point of adding grease (milk) to a drink. I only drink that awful insipid liquid, called tea, if there's nothing else

Tea made in a teapot (warmed first) with proper tea leaves is good, but how many of us do that nowadays?! I heard that water should be just off the boil when making coffee, but don't know if that's true? Firefox: putting milk in with the teabag before you add the water is a definite no-no! YUK! A very good friend of mine always does this and I haven't the heart to tell her not to 99% of the time we drink de-caff tea from Ringtons (a little fella comes round in a van once a fortnight) and it's right good - defy anyone to tell the difference from normal tea

Tiny saucepan or Mess Tin; Boil Water; Add 2 x Chai Teabags (& bit of Ginger Peel if You've been cooking wiv it!) Add Milk (Sugar if You MUST!) Simmer for a bit; Pour into Mug.......Add a bit of Rum!!!
