I received a monthly news letter today, well I got it twice! It's from the big W. Is it me or does it have an ulterior motive, its trying to lead me to other places, thinking kind thoughts and doing good deeds?? Is it just me thinking this?? I've got a life, don't like coaches,I just need cash!! ;D

I've got a life, don't like coaches,I just need cash!! ;D It does get a little tedious, I must say. I find it very hard being bonhomieish at this time of year, without being continuously reminded I might need help on the inner well being front. Do you think we would benefit from a "Welcome pack" here?

After the last email where I was asked to join up (I've been a full member for nearly a year) I wasn't best pleased and didn't want to receive information about other websites so I've done what I do with other spam and ticked the unsubscribe box! I kept quiet in the various discussions on the forum about that email as I felt that my views were in the minority and I didn't see any point in laying myself open to an attack having seen the comments posted at other people who objected. I've chosen not to receive emails from Admin on that forum so I didn't get the latest one, I don't need other people telling me what to do - in fact that's like a red rag to a bull, makes me want to do the exact opposite, my mum used to call it "contrariness".
I hope the Optimism and Positivity thread hasn't offended anyone, it was aimed at being a support to people when they are feeling a bit low and it needs moving to the Support board really - but if you aren't interested, just don't read it. At times when I've been very low, I've found that regular reminders about looking at things from a different perspective have been quite helpful.

It says that we all should do something to make ourselves and other people happy at this time of year. Well, I'm going to do what I've always done; make meself and others happy the rest of the year and be a grumpy old bastard at christmas.

I like the optimism thread. It shows we can help ourselves and encourage each other. And we mean it sincerely ; it's not based on generating big bucks for "life coaching"

I'm not offended, I like optimism ,this life coaching stuff is very American isn't it,most of them seem to be insecure and happy to pay for it

The Americans seem to love this kind of stuff, it's an industry over there! L Ron Hubbard was, in a way, a genius to channel his creative writing talents into a money making program that people would believe. I know Scientology is different to the Law of Attraction but they can both be manipulated for financial reward. I just wonder if some of the people who go for these (sometimes bank breaking) programs are challenged in some way and could be being taken advantage of.
