WVW recently kindly gave me a book on off-grid energy solutions.
Is anyone interested in me doing a short series of articles and how-to's based on the book?

I'll get to it. A lot of the projects are for fitting to bricks and mortar houses but there are some that could be adapted for van living in woodlands like composting toilets for example.

I'm another who would be really interested in the articles, Firefox. I don't think I'm familiar with the book.
Btw, I thought your piece about Lord Brown(e) and Fracking was very interesting.

Hey seanrua glad to see you made it in! I hope computer problems have eased. JennyP also had problems but she is sorted now. I think it may have been the new forum software they are using here.... they are gradually fixing some bugs. Yes I must get down and get the articles sorted. There are some good ones on wind and water turbines etc. I have written to my MP over fracking. He is a bit of Tory so don't expect a great response, but he has promised to raise some questions to the environment minister, and at the very least it may raise some awareness. There is quite a bit of public opposition to fracking. I think they reckoned they may squeeze it in through the back door, but they may have to rethink. There are lots of renewable options they can persue which do not have the risks that fracking poses.

Yes, thanks, Firefox.
Computer problems? I hadn't seen anything till my daughter gave me a new computer from France! Cannot seem to do any of the old favourite things with it. The problem is on my side, i think. Too much security conflicting with itself, I expect. I've gone back to the old box she threw away when she went to France. It suits me better, but that's because i haven't applied myself to learn the new thing.
So far, the only thing i managed to do was get "Postman Pat" on google chrome. Generally, i use Seamonkey, and i suppose that's the cause of my troubles.
In a way, this Fracking issue highlights similar traits and foibles in folk's attitudes: we tend to consider what will be the effect on ourselves first and foremost. This probably applies to "both" sides.

Fracking probably would not affect me as I live in Hertfordshire; it's not in one of the fracking areas. I don't like the idea of Gov members having outside interests and using their Gov positions to further those interests, though. I think this is very wrong and goes on under our noses all the time.
