Yes the garage is great for big bits of equipment. I must admit I have filled mine up a bit now with Gas bottle cupboard, 2xBatteries, Propex heater, and toilet recess, but still loads of space in there.

Hi tzar, welcome.
Good luck with the self build - Firefox makes it look so easy but it's hard work, can cost lots of £££, messy and frustrating sometimes, but there's immense satisfaction and pride when you finish a particular project, especially if it works as it's supposed to!
Some advice - get some decent tools as that will save alot of time and money in the long run. Also, when you are estimating the time a particular project will take, treble your initial estimate! Things always take so much longer when you're working in a confined space, and often once you've started a project, things don't always go to plan as you discover other jobs which need doing or you discover hidden rust patches, or wires that need to be rerouted or what you have done is a few cm too big as you hadn't made allowances for insulation, carpeting, etc etc
(Speaking from experience there!)
Have fun though, and feel free to start your own thread in the self build section to keep us updated on your progress and to ask for advice and ideas.

Definitely agree with wvw on the time taken.
It will take three or four times as long as you think for many things. Fitting out a van is essentially a refurbishment project in a very small space. As everyone knows refurbishment of a house can be very tricky due to working round existing pipes, cables, structure etc. Always something in the way. In a van those problems are magnified and you have to think very carefully where you are going to fit things in.
For example there may be one place where you can fit a heater and two places where you can fit a fridge (one being the same as the heater space). But if you fit the fridge first and use the heater slot, you'll have nowhere for a heater 12 months down the line. Sounds simple but a lot of planning need to avoid backtracking and wasted work/materials.
