The elusive Kim Dotcom has started a new operation based in New Zealand: mega.co.nz/It's set up differently to mega upload to prevent the authorities getting their hands on it. At the moment it is in its beta stages and still has a few teething problems, but it is one to watch out for if you want additional cloud storage as it has some interesting features. I'm not even sure how much you get but I think it is 50GB with free accounts.

Kim will be in the sights of the US authorities now, and the US is paranoid about these things. As a precaution, it might be sensible not to make oneself too reliant on it. Last time, a lot of people lost access to their legitimate data (as well as the, #cough#, less legitimate data).

This is set up with all that in mind though.
For a start he is not CEO of the company just one of the developers. Then it is all NZ based including the servers whereas I think MegaUpload was in the states. Then they have some encryption thing where nobody except the people with access can know what is on the files.
Not saying it will be totally bombproof, but it seems more robust than many other cloud places. And 50GB is hard to pass by as additional back up, if indeed that is how much they are offering free accounts.
