I wasn't sure whether the weekend was still happening following the wet weather, so popped over to the Elan Valley last week instead. I won't be going to Stonehenge this time, but hopefully later in the spring.

Where abouts will you be Millie?. Probably Marine Drive, Barton on Sea. It's a WCL listed under Hampshire - posted by ellisboy. We've been there before and it's lovely.

English Heritage make a fair pile of cash out of that don't they? I wonder if there were any visitors braving the weather today?!

English Heritage make a fair pile of cash out of that don't they? I wonder if there were any visitors braving the weather today?! There were bus loads at 9 o clock this morning all with their brolleys up and following the leader round the circle since they are not allowed near the stones. LOL. Load of sheep with too much money and no brains. as they no doubt had no idea what they were looking at.

Wow even on a day like today, the visitors were there. Someone told me that English Heritage charge a fair old wedge just to stand and look at them from 50m away.

I had a free pass so went along to see what was on offer.
EH charge £7.80 and you really don't see very much more than you'd see from the road. There's a mural painted onto the underpass, a poor audio tour, an EH gift shop and refreshment area with no seating. It takes about 20 minutes to walk around slowly and would be difficult to stretch out a visit to last much longer.
A brief video:

Thanks for the video. You don't get long. I wonder why they charge so much, it can't cost much to maintain. I guess it is because enough people will pay it, especially foreign visitors.
