They are adopted from rescues, just bought a mohome with bottom bunk already kitted out as a large cage, previous camper was a Bambi. We are trying to get them used to camping, I don't think there will be many sites that will be willing to have us on site, so are looking for any places that might be suitable in Bodmin, Cornwall need to visit son who is having a bad time at the moment for a few days. We are getting some of the new type windbreaks to keep the dogs from wandering away, we live in Essex. Does anyone know of a place that might suit us in that area.
Quite happy to be away from other people, some already saying hope we are not next to you.

How many dogs do you have? I've seen vans on C & C C sites with 5 dogs.
I don't think wilding is an option if you are going to put windbreaks out.

Hi caz, we have 9 dogs, we went out to Hatfield Forest today with most of them, to see how they were, and how the van was and where everything is in it, not found out how to heat the water yet. The dogs were excited but did settle down, not as noisy I had expected, they could see through the mesh on the windbreaks, and barked at other dogs, but will be getting some different ones soon where they can't see through it. I personally can't see us wild camping at the moment, maybe when we have less of them. Hatfield Forest is not somewhere you can stay overnight.

Sorry Tom, I thought everyone knew. May the fourth. It had to come. He was quite poorly at Hereford, passing blood, and was obviously in pain despite all the meds.
Today we are off to Dogs Trust and another rescue nearby. But I'm not getting 9! One will do me, it's two when we're at home anyway with daughter's dog, Shadow.

No Caz I never knew but did know it was coming. At Hereford he did a massive jump out of your van which surprised me has it is quiet high and he landed perfect. May the fourth was quiet a busy day all round. Poor Jaz leaving us for the last time. Me leaving Vern after visiting him the day before. It looks like they won't be putting him down this time round. Then me getting home on Jose's birthday and nearly forgetting it. Luckily I had bought a card before Hereford and had to rush upstairs to write it out has if I had done it already.. Well when you get the new little feller you will be able to do longer walks with us all and get him socialized. Looking forward to meeting him in the near future. R.I.P Jaz.. .... Tom ....

Come on Cazzy you can't leave it like that. OK his name is Reg, what make is he?. Is he big, fat, little, thin, tall. What color?, brown, black, mottled, silver, green, khaki, or just a plain old boring yellow with blue stripes and pink spots. I think I have just about managed to work out he is Male , or was that name a trick you threw in. Is he a transvestite like Rocco or is he the full blown Silvester Stallone of the dog world. Can't wait to meet him, catch you soon or at least at Orkney. .... Tom ....

Lol, at the moment he's Sylvester Stallone but he'll be a transvestite before I bring him home. I would put a photo on but can't load from my PC on this forum. He's an 8 year old Spaniel.

Thats great. Eight years old is an age where they need a new good home. He is a bit old to be loosing his brewing tackle, I am sure he will miss them badly. Rocco has a mate who lives opposite us, he is a springer spaniel called Ossie. He sure can be a bit feisty and they go mad when they meet up. I am sure they will get on fine. .... Tom ....

Wow 9 dogs! Quite a few for wild camping... you'd need a biggish spot free from traffic to give them a bit of safe space. Places like Stonehenge, Ribblehead, Devil's Dyke and parts of Scotland come to mind. At places like the byways at Stonehenge you could put windbreaks out for a couple of days and get away with it.

I am finding this website hard to answer posts, hope this is correct. They needed homes gradually obtained over the years, can't say no to another needy dog, ages from 4- 12. People keep handing dogs into rescues for all sorts of reasons. Need to be close to them in Bodmin. We don't mind paying something, family member has problems. just need a nice field really and can contain the dogs. I think I am downloading a photo of my past dogs, not all still with us.
