I was out in this, off grid, from 10th Nov '15 until late Feb '16. Over 100 nights with no hook up, i don't even own a cable. Yorkshire dales. Cairngorms (Near Aviemore) Glen Nevis. January 2016. I could go on forever but you'd get bored of looking at a yellow Trafic. ..... I call it Sunshine btw.

Love it great to see a van in a different colour to boring white.

Well, ya know, some of us don't have the luxury of choosing our colour, haha. I reckon if i paint some AA decals on it i could park it anywhere ;-)

Great stuff, I guess it must be pretty well insulated.

Great stuff, I guess it must be pretty well insulated. It's not too bad but i really don't know the amount of insulation that's in there, could do with a little more really i reckon. The inside is basically as per the original fit & it's listed as a motorhome on the V5 so if i wanted to find out i would have to upset the tidy order of things...Maybe i'll take a peek later in the summer. It's all in pretty nice condition in there, very snug but i did add the diesel heater & that has been the key to a very snug nights sleep. Even in sub zero tempretures i can be in there with my t-shirt on but once that heater goes off, the shell doesn't keep hold of the heat for too long. The short version is that i love it, nuff said.

Yes mine is pretty well the same. Have to get into bed under two duvets and switch the propex off. I did mine with rockwool in the roof and sides and cellotext under the floor. About 50-60mm all round. I usually leave my cable at home and just have a mini one I can plug in the genny to give me 1kW. Very rarely use it though. I like the look of your van - definitely stealth potential

It's stealthy alright. I have black curtains made from those cheap teddybear fluffy throws you can buy. They have a hem on all 4 sides & it's just right for a curtain wire to thread through, then they hug the ceiling & almost no light can be seen outside. That fabric is also great at trapping some heat in & it really helped over winter. One throw of 2m x 2.5m is £20 & will do a partition between the cab & rear cabin and it will do the 2 side windows. A second throw will do the rear windows & leave enough over for a bed cover too. B&M homestore, Poundstretcher & some other places sell the same throws.

Nice looking van.
I was after either a Trafic or Primastar (same van really) to get it converted by a local firm - but then my ready converted T4 popped up and I bought that instead (mainly 'cos it was a lot less hassle). Love it all apart from the rock 'n roll bed, I was planning on a side bed. Guess I'll get used to it.

Love it all apart from the rock 'n roll bed, I was planning on a side bed. Guess I'll get used to it. Understood. You have to go for whatever makes the most sense & that's just what i did with my van. It was already fitted & only needed minor spends to get it right for me, no point in making life difficult eh ! Coincidently i took the R&R bed out of mine in favor of a side bed. It was nice, i bought a double wooden futon & cut the width down to fit a nice single futon mattress that i bought seperately. The R&R bed will be going back in for the summer, gonna need a mattress topper i reckon to iron out those gaps. This summer i'll be fitting new carpet on the floor & replacing all the corner beadings, wooden & aluminium, on the cupboards. I might even venture into the wall & ceiling linings to add more insulation. A general internal spruce up kinda thing..... Spring is here, let the fun begin.

I'm still in my van, almost 2 years now. I'll be heading out for another winter tour at the beginning of November. They're a great van but can suffer some electrical brain farts & a few other known common issues. Good luck with yours, if it ever plays up & you want to swap ideas then feel free to contact me here. I also check in over at FB FMUK so you could post there. Overall I still like my trafic.

Hi there, good luck with the winter camp, i have only had wear & tear repairs on my Trafic nothing major to date i will check out the FB FMUK, thanks for that. My Trafic is still a work in progress, I have projects planned for the inside but decided to give myself a bit more room outside for official camping festivals etc, heres the van "uncloaked" with custom side tarp on Dartmoor. 👍 The Devil threw hell weather upon me, yet the tarp never budged 😊

Aye, that's a cool tarp system. Seen another example of that style before, it makes so much sense compared to the generic awnings. Happy days, Dartmoor is awesome, be well.
