You had to be good friends to share this. Funny enough it is not that ancient. When I was born we lived on a farm and it had no electrics or proper water ( it was a hand pump in the yard). Even though I left there when very young I remember the same double loo out in the fruit allotment. When they emptied it they but it round the bushes, everyone in Lincolnshire new when this happened. They then sold the fruit to the markets. The gooseberries where like apples and the raspberries where something else. They sold out in hours, but no one twigged what fed them. If they did it didn't matter it was the middle of the war so food was in big demand. I don't think they used chemicals in those days. If they did it sure was a good fertilizer. ....
