My current is the Sony Xperia Miro. It's an Android phone about 2 years old now.
As some of you know, I put my old Sony txt phone in the washing machine by mistake. I had had the Miro for 18 months but was just using it now and then for WiFi. It was a pain to get unlocked, but a blessing in disguise to fire this one up with my old Sim and SD card which survived the wash!

Unlocking mine was a pain. They were supposed to send an email with the unlock code, but customer services at Tesco forwarded my phone number with an extra spurious digit added on, to the technical support team.
They said the unlock code would come through in 2-3 weeks max. After 4 weeks without a code, I phoned technical support and eventually got through to the right person.
The computer had spat out the number with the extra digit, and instead of emailing me to confirm the correct number, they had just sat on the problem.

I'll have to buy my unlock code as the phone is still on contract. I'm assuming it can be done......

That's what I reckoned about my Sony Erickson Txt. It was £40 from Tesco and did a few things inc Wifi very poorly, but definitely in the lower class of phones. I think the Miro, although a true smart phone which I think has great features, was definitely given the noses up by the mobile phone snob brigade as having too small a screen etc etc. It's also a couple of years out of date, so I hope that it is not really nickable either. billieblue If you have had your phone 6 or 12 months there is a chance they may send you the unlock code free - it's worth asking. All I had to do to get mine unlocked, was put £10 credit on the PAYG phone.

Samsung Galaxy Ace on EE contract, plus for spare my old Samsung Galaxy Ace with a Tesco Sim in it, PAYG. I had to pay about £8 to get it unlocked. The old basic Tesco phone that came with the Sim is about somewhere but haven't used it in a long time.

My phone is still on the wall with a wind up handle and an extension cord you talk down. The tone is bad, it don't do texts, wont email, and apps are none existent. But on the plus side the battery never runs down you just wind the handle up before you talk. .... Tom ....

My Dad has just had to get rid off his old landline dial phone. Only reason being it would not work any more with the new BT exchange based voicemail. They gave him a real tiny crappy push button one to replace it with but that didn't work with his voicemail either. So I installed for him a £30 Binatone which works with everything. Welcome to the 21st C, Dad!
