Dave and Brenda aka splitty67 would like to invite you to a Very Special Meet to be held on 4/5/6th September 2015 at Glebe Farm, Peel Lane, Astbury, CW12 4RQ. 53.150971, -2.229428.
They have not been able to attend Meets in recent months, and have both been dearly missed, therefore it has been decided to take a Meet to them, to show them how much we value them as part of our community and enjoy the musical campfire evenings. Come along and share your musical talents, maybe jam with others and help make this a Really Special Meet. If you're not musically talented, it makes no difference, just come along and share the love!
On Friday evening, Dave and Brenda are hoping to 'Meet and Greet' at the Egerton Arms, Astbury, CW12 4RQ. 53.151148, -2.232239. which will give us all a chance to 'catch up'with each other during the course of the evening and welcome new faces into the fold.
Saturday, a large BBQ (courtesy of campervanannie) will be fired up at lunchtime, and you are all invited to bbq your own meal, over the course of the afternoon, please bring your own utensils. No doubt there will be impromptu musical jam sessions for your entertainment, culminating around the fire, for an evening with splitty and friends. Please try to contribute a small amount of wood for the campfire.
For those who feel they would like to clear their heads on Sunday morning, there are many varied walks around the locality, perfect for dogs and owners.
You are invited to arrive early and leave late, should we wish to extend the weekend. The cost per night is £7.50 per vehicle. Dogs are welcome, but must be on leads because of the livestock on the farm.

Closest turn off the M6, if coming that way, is J17 Sandbach (Northbound) or J18 Middlewich (Southbound). It's about 7 miles from J17.

Oh dear I was thinking of going to Beer and Bangers too.
Well never mind, the wild camping calendar is getting so full now, there's bound to be the odd clash here and there like the Hereford meet clashed with the Beer and Music festival.

Yes, I've double booked again! Suppose it's preferable to having nothing in the calendar!

I was hoping to make this one too but the van took a dim view of it and decided to go on strike. I may have a replacement one but it will need attention before it goes anywhere has its first trip will probably be France.Hope everyone has a great time. Being a Splitty and Brenda weekend there should be plenty of playing and singing. If you can't be good, bugger it go for gold. .... Tom ....

Probably not going to make it now. So much to do here on the house, and clearing up. Also I am knackered having spent the last three weekends on the road and working 50+ hours a week in between. But have a great time and stay away from the cake

I'm not going either. Too much to do for London/France trip. Still haven't sorted parking though a few suggestions. Think it was a mistake now to combine the two.

What a shame for those who missed it as this was one of the best meets ever, we all had a brilliant time. It was the first one I have been able attend for ages and it was lovely to catch up with some old faces and meet some new. Thanks loads to Rog for organising it, to him and Chris for keeping us topped up with supplies etc, so splitty for the fantastic music as always , plus the Saturday evening chilli and Sunday morning oatcakes with cheese and bacon - divine! To Annie for the BBQ, and to everyone else for just been such good fun we had such a laugh and came away feeling really chilled and like we had thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was good for Martin to put some names to some faces he had heard a lot about (yes I do mean you Annie and penny!) Sue and I managed to buy the same top in the on-site shop which we both wore all weekend, looking a bit like twit and twat, but we did compliment each other on our good taste!! The site was great, I was expecting a farmers field, but he had also converted some outbuildings into a little shopping village, with some really good shops plus childrens petting farm section so there were loads of goats, pigs, sheep and alpacas to watch. THings were very quiet on Sunday morning as many stayed up late after the BBQ fire and music, don't know what tey were still doing but certain people didn't make an appearance until Sunday afternoon!! Better stop spreading gossip now, am on lunch break and haven't got time to fit it all in! but all in all a top meet
