Hi - am new to the forum - thanks to Rubbertramp. Only as far as the deposit so far, but about to acquire a 1998 sundance. Love the name and hope it is a good omen of things to come. Hope to see a bit of the UK without incurring too many costs, and have a secure space for my - now blind - jack russell terrier. Look forward to participating in the forum and will be seeking lots of advice and reassurance in the weeks to come. Ignore the cake - that was my first mistake and cant figure out how to undo it !!!

Hi Djanned welcome to the forum. Hope to meet you on a few meets and really looking forward to meeting your little blind Jack Russel. Lots of us have dogs and they all seem to get on just fine. Perhaps we could meet him with Marks new dog sometime in the future. Have fun. .... Tom ....

Thanks everyone. Thats a coincidence Cas ! Jumble has been totally blind for 18 months although she lost the first one age 5. She is nearly 10 now. She has adapted well and is a happy little dog. How about yours ? And how do you like your sundance ?

Jazz is a collie/lab cross and he developed cataracts when he was a year old - vet said it was inherited from his father's side (black labrador). Had his lenses taken out and replaced with plastic ones (mega expensive) but the right one never worked properly because he detached the retina post-op. That one is now cloudy again (he's 13) and he sees nothing through it. I think he still has some vision in left eye but not a lot. I sometimes have to steer him round lampposts and up/down kerbs but apart from that he copes well.
I quite like the Sundance but find it too tall and wide, feel a bit lost inside, have to stand on a step to reach cupboards and worry about the TV aerial being knocked off by trees. It's a bit wide in the driveway too, have to get in and out by drivers door. Really want to go a bit smaller but can't afford to change at the mo'.
