Can I ask are we allowed fire pits or BBQ,s at this meet with it being held on a cattle market auction thingy. It's on my list of things to do Annie - I've got to contact the admin lass at the auction house today or Monday anyway, so I shall find out and let you all know asap!

Ok, folks...
Spoken to Linda this morning at the Auction House.
Thursday arrivals are fine for those who want to arrive early; suggest you try to get there before 5pm if poss, but not essential.
No firepits - sorry!
On Friday a chap called John will see us all in on site (he'll be driving a maroon landrover), give us the keys, show us where everything is, etc. We're aiming to get there about 11am Friday morning, or earlier.
Payment - Andrew will call round on Sunday morning between 10:30 and 11:00 for monies due.
Think that's all?

Well done Neil! You are rivalling MTM and Donkey2 for great local info. However, we will see if your seed is cast on stony ground or not, for the majority. I bet there will be a lot of chinwagging and imbibibling in preference to sight seeing or walking Come on all... prove me wrong

There's always late dropouts and space at these events If by some chance in a million there isn't, one could always go off and wild camp nearby - heaven forbid! Save yourself a fortune

Well, it's a stonking morning here in the North East! Not a cloud in the sky, the moon still showing and the remnants of last night's stars Laying odds it won't be the same when we start crossing the Pennines Reckon the Gods will start having their daily power shower when we're sniffing distance from Hawes! BUT ... the good news is that the weather for Hawes is going to be much better than forecasters thought, so fingers crossed folks ...

Just started raining again down here in the south west, and the weather in Hawes comes predominantly from the south west. Not that I want to put a dampner on things... he he

Well we are having a fantastic time here at Hawes despite having spent the whole day calling for Hewy down the big white ? it was self inflicted, did managed to stay tea total for the biggest part of today's fun. An absolutely cracking meet with entertainment from splitty, Neil, Marie and a rendition of Danny boy from the shy unassuming Mr J Onion voice like an angel what a brilliant weekend thanks Marie.

My thanks to Gordon, Fred, Penelope, Stuart, Julia, Brian, Jennifer, Peter, Hugh, Christopher, Benjamin, Alice, Belinda, William, Stephen, Trevor and everyone else who turned up. If I meet you a few more times I may eventually remember who you all are! Feeling slightly wrecked this morning, hope the guys that were left behind at Hawes enjoyed the remainder of the weekend and haven't burned the canteen down Takes care of yourselves and see you all sometime... don't know where, don't know when...

Bad mobile reception up at Hawes, but I know some are able to get internet access.
Guys - anybody still up there and reading this, get your lazy asses out of your pits, get down to canteen, clean up your mess - and I mean do a proper job - re-stock the tea and coffee, grovel unconditionally to the canteen manageress and make sure it's back up and ship-shape the way she wants it.
They've got a cattle auction tomorrow and she's not happy.

Well, they are "wild" campers after all, asses well and truly kicked if I was still up there - but then if I was still up there the canteen would have been sorted by now anyway. What are they like? Give me teenagers any day I hope they've all got stonking headaches and they get latrine duty, the buggers
