Hi I am from Essex, and am looking for places to stop off for the odd night here and there in the east anglia region. Preferably safe, but not too commercial,as will be traveling with a dog, that I would like to be able to exercise off the lead. And would lime to have some stunning views too. Everywhere else I have looked seems to concentrate on the west coast,Wales or up north. But there seems that there is very little over here in the east. Hope someone has some ideas or can recommend somewhere. Thanks

Welcome to the forum groggyalarm I'm from the North East so not much help for East Anglia stop-offs. I'm sure other folk on here will have some suggestions later. A lot of peeps are away in their campers this time of year, so responses might not be immediate!

Hi and welcome, loads of places in Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk. Best places on the coast, Burnham, Goldhanger, Maldon, estuaries round Colchester, Ipswich and up the coast, Aldeborough, North Norfolk coast, and also Thetford forest. Essex/Herts not bad, not always stunning views but nice countryside. Near me there is Royston Heath, Weston Woods, Radwell Springs on Herts/Beds borders. Lots of overnight parking and dog walking available there through woods and chalk hills. Have fun on the forums. Stick around a bit and you'll get access to our free lists of places with coordinates etc In the meantime there is the NomadGBPOI map: www.nomadgb.co.uk/Not all of these have been tested and some are just laybyes but he's done a lot of work looking at Google Maps from the air and looking at likely places. Just look for the red beds, zoom in on the satellite view, or look at Google street view for the places and see if they would suit you!
