I lost him in the garden only to see a nose sticking out of the ground ! He has dug a nice big hole in the shade under a tree and that is where he goes in the afternoon . He is not so silly after all !

Rigg jumps into water troughs and lies down in puddles. Then he shakes himself all over me.
Diesel just carries on running round like the lunatic that he is until his legs give way or he is sick or both. Big head, small brain.
The cat sleeps on the driver's seat basking in the stifling heat in the cab for most of the day if parked up. She wakes up at teatime, demands food and then disappears outside for the night.

Well the idiot decided last weekend at Brandon to launch himself off a mooring pontoon into the river ! Dragged him out by the scruff of his neck as he could not climb out he then shakes himself off all over Karen and I walks 10 feet away and dives in again to start the process off again ! In the end I went in the river too with the dogs and have to say it was lovely !

Lol, I was throwing stones off a mooring jetty at Druridge lake a couple of days ago, to encourage D to follow Rigg's example and jump in. The little fella isn't hugely confident in his own abilities and although he now swims like a fish, jumsuitsff things was a bit scary. But once he'd done it, he thought it was great fun. Have also been teaching him how to scramble on the breakwater rocks along the Northumberland coast, again he was a bit whingy and wimpy at first but is now like a mountain goat.
Interesting to see that even aged 11, Rigg is by far stronger, fitter, more agile and has much more stamina than a 2 year old Staffie. Although Rigg is only 50% collie by breeding, he is 100% collie in terms of physical ability, energy, stamina, brain power and work ethic /drive.
I've been awake for 2 hours now and yet they are both still crashed out, neither has given a "need a wee" whinge, I think they are both plum tuckered after a week on Northumberland beaches and they have another day of it ahead... it's a dog's life ;-)
The difference in D when he is tired is amazing - he becomes very docile and cuddly, does what he's told, and doesn't try to pull my shoulder out of it's socket on the lead. Van life suits him perfectly and he's a very different dog now to the anxious, stressed, half starved and self mutilating creature I met a year ago to the day.
But my next dog will be another collie :-D
