it's all right, we travelled for years with no bog shower or fridge, crap in the woods and wash in rivers and lakes,but what surprised me were some of the comments - what a lifeless ,joyless,miserable bunch of moaners !

my mate used carrier bags and a bucket. he tried to teach his kids to crap on clingfilm stretched across a bucket,but things got a bit messy !

I guess you can always use pee bottles and doggy poo bags if you have nothing else. Bit messy though.

I was just thinking the same, although the money soon goes if you're not careful: depends where they bought the kit, but they must be mad (or richer than they appear) if they didn't shop around or beg, steal, borrow beforehand

I think cheap swing bin liners and a bucket would work, I know WVW uses a bucket system and it seems fine. Not very 'eco' using loads of polythene though, but needs must and automatic toilet systems have just as many downsides

I have to say screws and miscellaneous seems a bit light.

Doesn't look so bad when you look at the actual breakdown, Vern. Sometimes it's easier and quicker to get the kit new, and if you're able to afford it why not?
