Thought I'd start this thread to be used for EVERY Full Moon Club gig so that hopefully it will be easier to know what's going on, rather than starting up a new thread each month and looking for bits of news elsewhere. All I currently know is from the latest event list here. Looks like the next gig features Katus who I remember played at last month's gig, and very talented she seemed to be - even thought about doing us a strip-tease, I kid you not (maybe better luck this time). Looks like its an indoor event? If I do think of going then hopefully the venue at High Barn, Edenhall, Penrith is not along 1-2 miles of vehicle-wrecking farm track - but would need assurance first! Are the usual crowd going this time? (Hopefully, Carol can make it one way or another!) Anyone else up for it? Any more info about the event would be appreciated, tah.

Apparently the postcode CA11 8SS is no good for finding the barn, so we might need info from Bill about location. No info on their last newsletter.
(I was born on Friday 13th, so no worries about the date.)

Latest is that MARIE might actually come along this time! She's decided there is someone we can trust to look after the garden and the cats. Obviously she'll be practising on the squeeze box so she can join Katus onstage - never one to miss out on the limelight.

No, Gaz's instructions are correct to a point.... (edit - on rereading his instructions, they are not correct at all) Take the A686 from Penrith towards Alston, about half a mile after the village of Carleton, take a right turn signed Edenhall (can't see a road number on it on google maps). After approx 200m you will come to a cross roads with an old yellow stone former archway (still known locally as the Arch) with the road continuing through it along what would have been the drive way to the Hall. Turn right here along a single track minor tarmac'd road for about quarter of a mile (past a farm on the left). Take the first right hand farm track after the farm on the left (about 200 metres further on) - not sure if it is signed High Barn or not. The track is usually pretty ok, not too potholed but can be muddy after a lot of rain. It follows the course of the hedge along the side of the field with a right turn and then a left turn bringing you to stone farm buildings - don't worry Neil, it's only about 200m, a doddle after the Low Borrowdale track. You'll see horses in the field and probably several gypsy caravans and probably also French Franck's converted ambulance, and no doubt Bill's truck so you'll know if you're in the right place. Just in case, you are looking for Barny's gaff at High Barn (the man that makes the gypsy caravans) - I'm sure any locals will know exactly where to point you. Here's a google map link (I've added some useful and interesting features on it) goo.gl/maps/VVXNvCan someone please make sure that Carol doesn't try to find the place using sat nav and postcode. Carol, I can meet you somewhere if you want. High Barn is where me and French Franck had our barbecued turkey on Christmas Day :-)

Eeh, thanks there WMV - avoided a bit of a disaster there. On the map it looks as though it's all one word as 'Highbarn'? Second street view shot is of turnoff from A686 for Edenhall. Third shot is at the so-called 'arch' (though no actual arch in sight) where you turn right, then farm track is up a distance on the right?

Hi all, I won't be there . No van as you know, tho Mary had very kindly offered a bunk in her van. However, it's Bradford Festival weekend so would be a shame not to support it. Fingers crossed I'll have my van back by the next one! Trying to be positive

Yes, the date was shifted, probably to be nearer the weekend - will have to call it a 3/4 Moon Club event, I reckon. Be there or we might not let you come to our place. V. sorry you won't be coming, Carol.

I have to choose between the FMC or going to the local village show on Saturday (would need to be back home by 8am sat morning!!!) in which I've entered for about £20 worth of classes and have been the champion edible necklace maker for the past few years. Last time I also won the cup for the most points in the crafts and photos sections so I have a standard to maintain.
A couple of weeks ago it was full steam ahead and I'd been finishing off various craft projects and making new things (a draught excluder out of old socks), a home made notice board, a decorated stone, and collecting various stuff for other things (various edible goodies for the edible necklace, a novelty egg cup, photo frame for the 5 year cross stitch project which I've finally got finished) but in the past couple of weeks I've just completely lost interest and done nothing more. It's too late now to finish off everything and to get the prints of the photos done, but I do have a fair bit of stuff finished and so could still enter about half the classes I've paid to enter. But I just cba anymore. Zero motivation.
So I've spent all week fannying around feeling miserable at home and not making any decisions about anything.
So I may be there, or I may not. It just depends if I can be arsed getting washed and dressed. Although I don't suppose it would matter if I turned up unwashed and in my pjs. After all, that's how I spent Xmas day there :-)

Anyone who didn't make it missed a cracker Music, songs, dancing, roaring fire, beautiful moonrise, not a breath of wind, views to die for and the most spectacular fireworks until about 5 in the morning. Weather was so good (poxy phones!) 3 late comers ended up sleeping outdoors under the stars no tent just a duvet cover - how often can you do that in the UK?! We're still in Cumbria, parked up at a reservoir south west of Shap with WVW and Outtolunch. Having a communal nosh in a bit, home made chilli, lentil Dahl, rice, salad, strawberries and cream.... stick the snails, Vern! Home tomorrow

What a cracking weekend :-) ty Mongoose and Neil and Chris for the company, food, everlasting match, tiring out the dogs, listening to my poem, taking away all my plant pots etc.
Am home at the moment but planning to grab a quick shower, change clothes, empty loo, top up water and head off again somewhere local tonight as the weather has been good and I just don't want to stay home tonight :-)

gaz, I know what you mean about the litter but to be honest, it's the same in the bothy and unless someone offered to drop it off in Shap on their way home, I used to have to take it home with me, plus the rubbish - often several bags / boxes. When people are pissed, the last thing they will think of is to hunt for and find their empties and take them back to their vans/ tents when they go to bed. Not detracting from Mary at all, but I'm sure that had Mary not offered to take it, without question someone else would have done. We were virtually the last vans to leave and I had a scout round and to be honest, there was no litter left and the place was left in decent fettle. It was the perfect summer's night though and probably the nicest FMC I've ever been to. Barny and Katus are lovely generous hearted people whose way of life is inspiring and makes us van folk look like right pansies - especially them what have showers in their vans and cover themselves top to toe in Lynx ;-)
